How to automate "Read More" Plugin ??

I gave just shifted from Blogger to Wordpress.

I have over 700 posts. All appear in full lenght. i only want a summary to appear followed by read more link.

Is there any plugin which can make the link appear after a fixed no. of characters.

You can also manually add codes in theme files. Its simple just one line code.

 

If its a 5 min job please tell me how to do it

I've used it before. It basically takes the first paragraph of your post and then puts a more link directly after it on the index pages automatically. There are some advanced options too if you don't want that to happen on every post.

I haven't tried these either but it may be worth a try, they look like they have similar functionality to the Evermore plugin.

 

Well I had the same problem too. May be the plugin by fish can solve this issue.

 

i think you have to manually work edit post and add readmore add readmore by hand

 

If you have pics in your posts then then you can show thumbnails in your excerpts. Best wordpress plugin for thumbnail for excerpts is http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/thumbnail-for-excerpts/
