How do I revert back to wordpress after installing index.html

    Hi There


    Help would be much appreciated


    I installed wordpress and uploaded lots of pages and files. I then wanted to put up a temporary homepage on the site and so created an index.html and uploaded it.

    Now I want to go back to wordpress so I have deleted the index.html file but all I get now is a directory

    How do I go back to Wordpress?

    Do you have an index.php file in the WP main directory? If you deleted it you may have to re-download a copy of your WordPress version number, and upload index.php again.

    Could be an .htaccess issue as well.

    check you htaccess file. something might not be right in it.

    Oh that's a wonderful answer. "Something may be wrong" No kidding.

    Please provide a link to the site in question so we can see the directory listing. You may be missing files. Also please check the webserver's error logs to see what's in there. Both of those points are good ones to get into the habit when asking for help on any internet forum.

    Did wp work before the index.html was added in?
