I started Adsense about 4 months ago and was quite disgusted the first week. After reading through the Adsense site, although they are very secretive of how much a person will make, I got the impression through the examples they showed that it would be rather easy to make $4 a day with my little site (700 uniques per day). Here's what I got the first week-- Day 1 $0.35 Day 2 $0.48 Day 3 $0.01 << almost quit Day 4 $0.11 Day 5 $0.35 Day 6 $2.09 Day 7 $1.17 Well, I stuck it out and now it's 4 months later. I've learned about blending, channels, rotating images, filtering, keywords, and a whole lot more by coming here. My traffic is about the same, but visitors are clicking now. Here is my most recent week-- Day 1 $5.12 Day 2 $4.05 Day 3 $4.43 Day 4 $11.90 Day 5 $7.10 Day 6 $4.64 Day 7 $8.34 I'm averaging over $5 a day, which exceeded my goal. Next I'll work on increasing my traffic, and see if I can double it. Thanks to everyone at DP
Congrats. I'm new to Adsense too so it is encouraging to see people exceeding their goals. I like your site too, cute content, and its a good niche.
That's comforting... I still have months to go before I can even launch my site and it is really tough to not give up before I even start Great job though!
With 700 uniques per day, $5 an average is what you should have been achieving in the first place. But its good you've learnt all the tricks and its working for you now
You definitely shouldn't give up during the first week. You gotta keep on adding good content, get more regular visitors, do a little bit of SEO to get ppl coming in through the search engines, and optimise and test continuously. I'm in my 3rd month and I've made $20 all up so far through Adsense. And I've also got one Text Link Ad. All this from 300 uniques and about 600 pageviews daily. Slowly getting there. My initial goal is just to get back my hosting fees USD$75 p.a. Aiming small at first but with a long term view.
Yeah, I know. But my site was already a year old and not designed for adsense. So after I put the script on a thousand pages, and kept getting ads for insulation, septic tanks, and industrial aluminum (my site is about bubble gum trading cards) I didn't know if they would ever get it right. I went ahead and added it to another thousand pages, even though I felt stupid doing all this work for inappropriate ads and (if lucky) 30 cents a day. But all worked out in the end. I also tried several ads from Commission Junction. After 4 months, I've gotten 0 sales from the dozen or so different companies I tried. The only one that works for me is eBay. I get about $25 a month in commission from them. I'm weeding out the rest, except for one I just found that may have potential.
It's good to hear you didnt give up! I see a number of people quit just after 2 or 3 days because there income isnt working. Getting good numbers doesnt come easy but a lot of study and experimentation can go a long way.
You should have made a site redesign. Anyway no business gets a Return of Investment in a week. Some even take years
I agree... adsense does increase as time passes.. I used to get just just pennies.. now I am breaking the dollar mark .. it is good feeling..
I know next to nothing about web design and computers. I'm just a collector who wanted to build a site, so I've been learning as I go. The whole thing could use an overhaul, and I have plans for another thousand pages. Will probably take a another year to get it the way I want it.
hey! right now my web-income is $0 as I drunkly deleted all my sites and stuff.. and after that I dont intend on re-making them.. need ideas!
Congratulations, I am in the same process rigth now, but in the first steps I hope my earnings grow like yours. But It is more dificult for me, as there are few advertisers in my language ;-)
