He either died and was buried in Tora Bora December, 2001, or April of 2004, or in Pakistan August 2006, or he was murdered by Omar Sheikh somewhere along the line. Cause of death (take your choice) stroke, kidney failure, typhoid, pneumonia, organ failure or murder.

Can you provide proof he's alive? Didn't you mention something about having some videos showing him alive? Can we see those now?

 

There is exactly as much proof that he is alive as there is that he is dead - none.

Short of a body - either warm and breathing, or cold and rotting - there is nothing but speculation on this point.

We could, however, have a rich discussion about bin Laden's relevance to anything that has happened in the post 9/11 world. Most open minded people would probably conclude that he has little relevance outside of being a convenient scapegoat and being a semi-plausible excuse for otherwise unacceptable actions.

 

I doubt he ever even had anything to do with 9/11/01 in the first place... Its fairly evident that Canada and the Tooth Fairy had a lot more to do with it than he did.

Short of a body, his absence since 9/11/01, his ailing health, and other factors can lead one to only two conclusions; he's dead or found a really good at the "hid" part of hide n seek!

 

You do realize what a sweeping indictment of Dubya, Cheney, Wolfy, Rummy, et. al. you are making with this statement? In fact, it kind of indermines the entire "War on Terror" theme, don't you think?

Well, for awhile there, Bin Laden was releasing videos as his way of saying "Hey! Look! I haven't been caught!" There were so many I thought he was going to have his own cable channel. The videos always mentioned current events (to prove they were current) and he said something controversial to grab the attention he wanted so much.

But although it serves Bin Laden's best interests to release videos quickly and often, there hasn't been any new authenticated videos since 2006.

In my opinion - I think Bin Laden is as dead as disco. I think the Marines got 'em. It's just not being released because, in death, the terrorist wingnuts might treat him as a martyr.

 

And why would or should they? Who really cares? It's like saying killing the Pope is going to make Catholics stop taking Communion.

There are better things to do than look for an ailing old sickly bearded whacko. Things like nuking Somalia.
