I'm not usually one to ignore a forum authority, but I guess I can do that in this case.

    Ha, NO.

So you don't really care about my concerns as a member of this forum, whether I'm insulted by intense profanity or not, and you insist on doing it, because you can. Because you're more important than I am.

This is not a good moderator IMO. You can be better though ;)

That point of view is fine. I understand that you simply don't understand because you (I'm assuming) never experienced it. Even still I can't just let you boil it down to bad choices just because it makes you feel better to think so..

It's not as simple as bad choices. For some people it's quit school and get a job or watch your baby cry because it's hungry...

And even if it were bad choices would you say it's safe to say that it's understandable that a person who had it hard coming up might be more prone to make bad choices having not had the proper guidance a more priviliged person had?

Sure life is hard, that's life and all the other feel good quotes the priviliged like to use on themselves to make it feel OK to look down on the less fortunate but don't try to make it seem like it's a level playing field and a person who had it hard coming up is just as much to blame for a bad decision heavily influenced by their upbringing.

What the heck am I saying in all this? I'm saying that there is a HUGE differnece in a rich spoiled kid who drops out of school to smoke weed and be a slacker and a kid from the slums who drops out of school. Don't try and make the playing field look level when it's not.

Rob, someone tells me you're always sarcastic. I guess I didn't know this, so I want to apologize for being rude as I was... the profanity still offends me, but I am sorry for speaking out against you like that. It wasn't fair. You had no idea. I had no idea.

Overspending on both sides of the aisle is a problem. Ronald Regan pointed that out about the democrats then found out that his own party was equally bad and spoke out against that during his administration. ;)

Politicians do go crazy with tax payer money. They figure that since they have the money why not spend it frivolously. They never stop to think that this is someone else's hard earned money that they are wasting.

    Or use a condom.

I agree completely. It's amazing to me seeing people with 5 or 6 kids who don't have jobs. Even working at a minimum wage job would be a struggle. I can't comprehend bringing a kid into this world and dooming him to fail. Welfare goes hand and hand with poor schools and dangerous environments.

Meant to reply last night. Forgot.

You'd be wrong. Over the course of my childhood, I've lived in mobile homes, a house, a hotel, a condo (free while mom worked for a big company in TX), and a flood prone house here in FL. Myself, I was living paycheck to paycheck (well, on credit cards too) up until about 5 years ago.

Isn't it? A baby doesn't appear out of thin air. It takes a series of choices to have a baby. That young, its a series of bad choices. There are options.

And no one ever says. Welp, that's life. Suck it up, man! I'm totally for helping people in bad situations. What I'm against, is the forcible mugging of taxpayers to help people. Last statistics I heard were that 28% of money designated for welfare recipients actually get there. The rest is tied up in paper pushers. Does that sound like anything good is happening?

I think charities, churches, etc should take over these reigns. They did a helluva lot better job in the past than the nanny state is doing right now. Since they get their funding from willing people, there is no robbing peter to pay paul going on. It makes more sense. And since they have limited funds, they have motivation to help improve these peoples' lives, not let them lay in the hammock, scraping by just enough to keep them ticking the voter lever the right way every 4 years.

Yes I know. Believe me. And its very frustrating. I don't take sides on this. R's do it just like D's do. Each side knows the easiest way to get votes is to throw money at people. It's pretty sad.

Anyone on Welfare, who has the audacity to complain about new procedures, enacted to effectively HELP THEM, should call the WAAAAAAAAAMBULANCE! What a crock of sh*t!

This thread was started by someone complaining about welfare recipients. No welfare recipients have complained here, well, that we know of.

EXCERPT FROM STORY IN FIRST POST:

"Dahlin, whose benefits could be cut if she doesn't comply, said that officials are "making it far more difficult than it needs to be; it's not like you're some kind of ex-con."

    I WOULD CALL THAT COMPLAINING, WOULDN'T YOU?

No, but if you really want to reduce welfare (ie if your morality allowed any means open), you'd kill anyone with a low IQ. To some level or another, they do that now...it's called abortion.

It's actually said the Jews and Eastern Asians have the highest IQ's in the world...atleast that's what I've heard.
