I use name.com how do I transfer a domain I own to someone else The reason I ask is because I'm going to sell one of my domains Thanks..
i use godaddy & namecheap, and they have feature "PUSH DOMAIN TO OTHER USER", so what you need is just push domain to other godaddy / namecheap user without fee (free). i never use name.com, but here are tutorial i got from internet -> 1. Log into your Name.com account. 2. At the "Hello" page, click on the transferring domain name. 3. On the "Manage domain name" screen, select the "Account Transfer" or "Bulk transfer names from this account to another Name.com account" option. 4. Enter the Recipient's / Buyer’s Account ID, checkmark the applicable contact types, and click "Submit." (or try read their tutorial) second way are, doing "DOMAIN TRANSFER", this happen if buyer are from other registrant, example name.com and godaddy, so what you need are just find your domain "SECRET CODE" / "TRANSFER KEY" / or name like that (different registrant different name), and then sent it to your buyer. your buyer then will do TRANSFER DOMAIN from their registrant, input TRANSFER KEY (from you), then domain will transfer to buyer registrant. this method make buyer pay for 1 year domain registration. hope help,

i have a domain to transfer from a kid...i think he initially did it from yahoo... my reseller account control panel wont allow me to start transfer process without entering auth key....and he says...he will approve the domain transfer but he doesnt know where he can get auth key in his domain control panel.... so,we dont know what to do..? our control panel says us to enter auth key....and he says he doesnt know how to get auth key ...rather if email comes he will approve it... how can i handle this?
tell him to ask with his registrar for epp key (auth code ). it all depends on registrar interface. some willlist the epp key in the control panel some may need to email them
Well, guys upstairs have explained this problem very carefully, and I would also like to mention you that, domain names registered within 60 days are not allowed to transfer. After transfer to another registrar, you have to renew it for at least one year.
can we send domain tranfer approve email to him with out him giving us epp.... which registrat allows that...? or the website..?
If you advise the domain we can see which registrar its with and likely tell you how to get the auth code.
Bear in mind some registrars charge for changing the registrant. The easiest way would be to just change the CONTACT info to be the new owners..
