I`ve discovered few days ago well known here backpage.com classified ads system and want to ask you about your expiriences with it. I mean ways of placing ads to get best traffic from this system.

I`ve testing it since few days, placing 50-60 ads a day, and have 0 replies. All I get from backpage.com are "COMMUNITY REMOVED" ((:) every day, and every day I have to post next 50-60 ads.

It seems like this system visitors are 100% advertisers ((:), and 0 potential customers :)

I know I can`t expect that amount of traffic like on Craigslist but hey, all you talking here about backpage.com and nobody told how is conversion from backpage.com. How many ads in wich cities should we put to get best conversion.

I`ve testing this system on 50 major cities, and get nothing yet. Maybe I made some mistakes in placing ad process, or maybe in the content of my ads or titles. Can please anyone share own succesfull story with backpage.com ?

I've tried the free version. Unfortunately I never saw the same type of traffic from Backpage as I did from CL. This was a year ago, so things may have changed, but CL despite the huge hassles always made up for it with sales.

I stopped trying to advertize on backpage because
the "main guy" forgot his name? "carl ferrer"
i think that was the name if I remember correctly
    contacted my affiliate manager....

I was putting posting free ads, that were sending people
    to my landing page

he contacted my affiliate manger, he even wanted my affiliate
manager to give him my name and personal info! (lawsuit I assume?)
because I should have been purchasing "sponsored ads"

but my aff manager refused to give them my personal
info;), and instead just notified me why I was being "banned"
    as an affiliate:(

so I don't have a very good impression of backpage right now

THEN many months later I decided to try them again, but this time
    I would buy "sponsored ads"

Well what they would do is take my ad off and put it in a section
they felt it "more appropriate" (those F ing Bast___ds!)
and when I complained they couldn't tell me why they did that
especially when other similar ads were allowed to "stay" in the
section I purchased the "sponsored ad" in, and they wouldn't
    refund my money....they're screwed!!!!!

I had the same with them, therefore everyone who read this thread DONT PURCHASE ADS on backpage.com, because they removing them and your money never back to you !

It is stupid they delete PAID ads, I never seen that kind of practise anywhere around .if I paid for something I always can expect my Ads will be live untile they expire ,simple, but backpage.com have their own rights.

In their rules they doesn`t permit to put ads in multiple cities if you do if for free, but how "COMMUNITY" can rekognise my Ad was PAID or FREE ?

In PAID verstion backpage permit place Ads in multiple cities and charge for that, but COMMUNITY can easy remove my Ads for a reason "overposted", it is stupid system, and stupid owners of it to allow behaviour like this. We paid for placing ads in multiple cities and anyone can remove out PAID ads.

You can spend few hundreds $ on placing PAID ads in all cities and anyone can remove them few minutes after they appear. I never seen something like that before.

Therefore if you thinking abount placing PAID ads, forget it ,you will lost your money on backpage.com, you will get no traffic and your ads will be removed very fast. That are my expiriences with them, and after few days of using backpage.com I can say them - goodbay ,wasting of time and money.

I think that stupid practise can doo competition :), connect several times from other IPs push the button several time and competitors Ads dissapearing ((:), stupid rules they have to permit that on PAID ads.
