Its funny the amount of 'how can i make money' threads which are posted here in the business section on DP. Its cool, I get it - a lot of people out there are ambitious and have intentions on improving their life - and are coming to DP with some real questions about the best and most effective ways to go about doing that. The truth is, making money is a skill . Too many of us here it seems fail to grasp this concept. There is no 'one way' to make money. There are thousands of ways in fact. Yet, these 'ways' are only useful to those who already have the skill. All of the tips, methods, and strategies out there are not going to lead to an instant success if you have no skill... If you suck at piano, don't assume you can play Beethoven on the first or second day. Just as with any skill in life, making money requires dedication, practice, and time. Soon, with enough experience under you're belt you'll start connecting the dots. And uncovering your own 'ways' to make it happen. At that point you only need courage.
Nice encouraging/discouraging post. So what's your point? Would be a good blog post for sure. Not really 100% on how good of a thread it might become, but who knows. You do have a point though, not sure what it is, but you have one.
I feel that most important is just do it! You can read ebook after ebook on how to make money online, but you won't be making money if you don't put it into actions. Learn by trial and error, learn from your mistakes, snowball your profits bigger and bigger, start now by putting the theory to work and you will have success quicker.
I think the best way to 'Just do it' is to actually spend some money on web hosting and a domain. That way you will feel more compelled to actually try something out. That's how I started out and I haven't made my million yet (my first idea was rubbish) but in less than a year ive made well over $2000.... without really trying.... from my third website. And I didn't know html or even how a website was made, my compulsiveness actually paid off Trail and error..... that's the name of the IM game [taps nose with finger] /rant
Need more content to deserve the thread; we know you do it to get visits to your blog... but you should put more interesting stuff in the post to worth it.
Must agree with most people here Just Do It. Nothing beats active learning, its easy to get overwhelmed but by sticking to the basics you'll have a much better chance of success. As you become more experienced, you can learn more advanced techniques.
its also important to remember that very few people succeed at first. most successful businessmen have a junkyard of failed businesses behind them. its not uncommon for those aspiring to have a best selling novel, be rejected by 100's of publishers on the way to success. Its crucial to stop talking about doing it, stop analysing it and just get out there and do it. Buy a domain, buy a hosting package and start learning from your failures - and you will have failures! expect them, budget for them, learn from them and dont give up.
I think he/she is trying to say that in order for you earn money one must have a skill. No matter how many ebooks you read about how to make money if you don't have the skills it is useless. I think that's the point he is trying to stress
You might as well be surprise at the amount of information these newbies have passed without applying any of them. Most of these younger generations are simply lazy, instead of complaining why don't you seek they seek for ways to make it work. Afterall, rome wasn't build in a day.
I agree with you in that it's great to see people asking questions. After all that's where it all starts. Questions! I also agree with you on the point about playing the piano. But it doesn't all boil down to "skill". I would prefer to see it as hard work! HARD WORK IS THE KEY INGREDIENT TO SUCCESS! Totally on the point, rome wasn't built in a day! So every newbie out there who wants to learn, go ahead learn. Try! Explore! But most importantly of all, dedicate yourself, work hard!
Very well said. Too many people are not willing to take the time learn any one area of the many that exist to make money online. Once I focused all my energy on ONE thing it actually became quite easy. I think all us IM'ers suffer from ADD.
Personally, i think the best opinion i can give is to practice a lot more and more! You will fail and you will learn, and do better and better to find INNOVATIVE ways of making money.

I also think that there are many ways to making money. I am interested in E-Commerce and I want own a wholesale wedding dresses through a E-Commerce website. I can find so much information on the website. So there is a will, there is a way.
Making money online cannot be compared to playing the piano.....it is not a skill. Creating websites and blogs, and inserting ad code, are things that anyone can do. What sets apart the big earners is persistence, and hard work.
