i have been working on writing articles lately...but really havent found anyone to buy it from me... 1)i've tried asscociated content...however,they rejected me. is there any other way i can find any clients for my articles???
Forum is a great way to find clients.. Go to some other forums like warriors because they are threads that talks about article writing Or you can email directly website owners or bloggers
Most may find that an objectionable practice, and it might mark you as a spammer. I know I don't want to be emailed by hundreds of struggling content writers looking for a gig.
I see your point BUT, if you target the site owners properly this is a really good marketing tactic. Just be sure to email those that have a need for you and explain what you can offer them. This is no different than cold calling..well...except that it's not calling
Just like those Nigerian billionaires who want to share their fortunes and estates with me. It should be a last resort IMHO. Plenty other marketing opportunities await the creative, imaginative and marketing minded writer.
I just think they are so nice to want to share! And the offers are reasonable, so that's how you know they are true
Best way to find clients is to start a blog and showcase your writing skills. Let clients find you naturally and you could find high paying clients at your door step.
Do you have a website? If so, that's a perfect place to put examples of your work. I started out placing free ads on sites that work like Craigslist in USA and that got me off the ground.
websites, blogs, elance, scriptlance, gaf, guru, there are TONS of places out there. You will have to compete with hundreds who will write 500 words for $1 though.
i'm ready to take you as a freelancer....... If you are hard working and can reach the deadlines............ contact me
You can easily find the clients. You can go with classifieds and check the ads regularly. It will help to increase the local clients. You can mail them to find the aboard clients.
i've been reading a lot but need to get started. how and where can i start doing things for others, please tell me.
Forums like DP are perfect sources of good leads if you are looking for writing gigs. It is just a matter on linking with those who need your services. In the meantime, work on your reputation as a reliable service provider. Start your own blog so that you can showcase the kind of work you can provide your clients. You can also submit articles to ezine.
Speaking from experience, I'd give sites like GAF a wide berth. I've used it as a both a writer and work provider and genuinely wish I hadn't bothered. Hindsight is a great thing and although GAF can give you valuable experience in producing articles, you'll probably starve to death because of the lousy rates most work providers are willing to pay. If you have strong writing skills and can be organised enough to work to a strategy, I always recommend Constant Content. You can write on subjects that you have experience in as well as targetting buyers who have made public requests for articles. You'll need to be grammatically perfect to get work accepted but the fact that you can name your own price means that the site is a great place to start. The only downside to CC is the fact that they take around 7 days to approve non-requested articles. Additionally, the 35% cut they take can take a huge chunk out of your earnings and there's no guarantee of making a sale. However, you'll gain fantastic writing experience and will probably find that writing on things that YOU want to write about will be much more enjoyable than producing 50 x 500 word articles on Resveratrol at $1 a pop! If Associated Content have rejected you, try looking at alternative sites that work to a similar theme. Helium is probably the best of these although I haven't used it myself for some time. Long-term, you need to establish a customer base of respectable clients who will pay you fairly for your work. The chances of achieving that at GAF are minimal and once you get stuck in the rut of trying to turn out 15 articles a day just to make a pitiful $15, you'll find it hard to get away from.
If your articles were rejected by associated content, you writing skills need to be improved. Take your time. Read some good books, enrich your vocabulary, improve grammar and try again. I would recommend you dailyarticle.com, their rules are not very strict but average prices for articles are lower than in Constant Content for example. It would be also a good idea to find some one who can proofread your articles. The important thing is not to give up trying. If you are a hard working person, you'll succeed.
Very right, rigmonkey. I know this is a difficult market to get into now with truck loads of competition..but if you are GOOD - There is no looking back
