Don't know if this was reported before, but it's still here so I'm going to mention it.

I think ahetal should be permanently banned from DP (IP ban as well) for selling his eBook, which relates to child pornography.

    Here is the thread: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1554154

I'm sure he'd be willing to give a staff member a free copy of the book to try and prove me wrong, though I would go to a buyer or reviewer to assure that you do get the actual book he's promoting in his thread. I don't have it myself because I rather not have that sitting on my computer (for obvious reasons; it's utterly disgusting).

I don't know anything about him or his eBook, but the first question that comes to mind is how do you know it is child porn/utterly disgusting if you haven't seen it? His post certainly doesn't look like he's trying to sell child pornography or anything else from looking at it.

I never said I didn't see it. I said I don't have it. I got it because I thought it was just a method to make money, but in the book it shows child pornography and tells you to promote it due to the fact that child pornography is material that is hard to find, which makes the method as lucrative as it is.

out of 97 posts i see 2 references to child porn and thats near the end.
all those users giving reviews and no mention of anything illegal.

but, as soon as its mentioned, OP closes any more sales.
    this in itself is suspicious.

i do agree with Jerlene, if it is indeed child porn, OP needs to be banned permanently.

    Hello,

Child Pornography is disgusting. I can't believe anyone would do that on this forum. It just grosses me out. I hope the perpetrator gets caught by the police..

My Question: Does DigitalPoint contact police in a case such as this? Or if Child Porn was posted?

I've sent a copy of the ebook to Shawn. Does anyone else (staff) want a copy of it for proof? It seems nothing was done yet.

I've gotten requests from members asking me for the ebook. I'm only giving it to staff members.

DO NOT ASK ME FOR IT!

People that ask for it are worse then the people that buy it because they already know what it is.

Actually there's caselaw here in the US that if you're marketing 20 year olds as 12 year olds, it's still considered child porn. Was an issue about 5-6 years ago. The judgment was based on how the end user saw it as.

You'll forgive me for not giving links.

These kids look really young. They are being advertised as 16 and 12 year olds. There are a few kids shown in this ebook.

I'm not sure if I should open that ebook if it contains CP.. but if what you're saying is correct. He should be banned.

    Yes,

He should be banned. But, I also think DP needs to take this to the police..

What do the rest of you think?

without question. I would suggest that if indeed it does contain child pornography that you do not send it to anyone other than staff. Transmitting child pornography is a felony in the US and you can be prosecuted. I would submit a complaint to the FBI at https://tips.fbi.gov/ or the Internet Crimes complaint center http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx . They take these matters quite seriously, and given all of the warnings that the seller has been given their is no excuse for him to continue promoting this at childrens expense. YET ALONE condoning others to do so!

I was thinking of doing that but I'm willing to let the staff take care of it here first. If nothing's done I will definitely take it to the proper authorities.

I do think that it should be reported. Anyone who gets off on CP should be shoot, that someone son/daughter- (HOW WOULD YOU LIKE IT?)

DP should log his IP and give a full report to the police!

Thank you for taking the initiative, and seeking justice for the people that are inevitably harmed by these crimes. I can assure you in either case that the authorities will be quite diligent in pursuing this. It is horrible to think that this seller of this book is not only distributing child pornography (which is a felongy in many countries), but also actively encouraging other people to do so and profit from it.

In anycase, if you do it yourself and report it to IC3 or DP decides to take action. Having worked with authorities on similar cases, I can assure you they take these matters quite seriously, and is at the top of the list in order of importance to what they investigate. Having the sellers paypal account, email address, and such should make it relatively easy for them to track down the individual(s) behind this.
