How much links do you think that we can insert in our blogroll? As inserting much external links can effect your SEO, there are many measures keep your blogroll safe and clean. Do you have any tips?
Make all your links nofollow, then you'll be safe. I think that if you link websites that are related to your content, you'll also be safe.
Matt Cutts has said a number of times that google bot will still see that as a link and lower the amount of juice that flows through to the other links like internal ones. If you're going to do links, you mind as well dofollow. Gotta admit when I do a blogroll, I put in the sites that interest me. No more and no less. Number doesn't matter. If it;s an interesting site to you, stick it in there. I don;t put them on every page though: http://drmikessteakdinner.com/links.html
I have come across blogs that have 20-30 dofollow links in the blogroll and still doing well in the SERP's.
Thanks for all answers. So we can conclude that: Number of Blogroll Links (even if it is dofollow or not) will not effect the SERP.
If the blogs are in the same niche, it should ok even with 20 links or 30 links. Those newspaper websites have many outbound links. If those blogs are from completely different niche, sooner or later Google is going to suspect link exhange.
It's best to keep external sites to 20 or below If I'm looking to purchase links on a site, if they have over 20, I don't even look.
I've seen a PR4 blog with more than 50 different niche blogroll link (dofollow) and still ok until this time. Is link exchange illegal for google?
Create a links page, and put your links there, instead of your homepage blog roll. If you have to have a blogroll, I wold keep it to no more then 25 links or so. I heard that the maximum recommended number is something like 75 links. So go no more then 1/3 - 1/2 of that.
