I have a about £242 due from a company in London. This will be a fair amount of money after I "accept" the transaction to USD but then PayPal keeps it share.....how can I get this to be lower than their usual robbery transaction? Here's a GOOD SITE to learn various exhange rates.
I don't think you can influence exchange rate in Paypal . They have their own exchange rate. Nothing much one can do
You may ask for a masspay, you will get complete money. If you have beginner account then it also decreases cost.
Do you mean you want to lower the conversion rates from pounds to dollar or you want to lower the paypal fees that is $.30 and a little percentage of the transaction amount ?
Actually PayPal charges a specific transaction or handling cost. So how do you get them to lower that percent they deduct from your transaction? I have been with PayPal for about 7 years now.
If your account is a personal account and the person who pays who makes a personal payment, then paypal doesn't charge you any fees. I guess this was what you were looking for.
Masspay and personal transactions are the methods people use to lower the paypal fees but if you are referring to cut down on foreign exchange charges levied by Paypal, there is no remedy to it as Paypal strictly follows its own devised exchange rate! Regards, RightMan
Rightman (and all!): Much appreciated! No, I realize INTERNATION EXCHANGE rates are just that....etched in stone, based on the value of the currency for that specific country....just like our good ole American greenback. My questions strictly revolve around the percentage PayPal charges or deducts from a specific transaction. So, in essence, I am focusing on "personal" account...how can I find that in my PayPal account? What tab will take me there? Thanks! Dan
PayPal, in past, has had some flexibility in their transaction fee's. For example, we use a standard merchant account as well as PayPal for payment processing. The rate with our merchant processor is 1.99% for internet transactions plus $0.27 per transaction. I called PayPal to see what they could do with their rates to "woo me over". They ended up matching rates. This was a couple of years ago, so policies may have changed. Not much of a savings, but savings none the less. -Bing
