I love online games, I love MMORPGS + RPGS. However I HATE WoW, if your over 16 play a real game, WoW is a game for l337 teens.
Alis - lol where are you from and what are you smoking? The last few posts i have read fro myou make hardly any sense =D You saying you play WoW + Lineage II and program for Ultima?
:s , "Shrugs... , needs sleep" Im waiting for a test report about a program that i have done. I didnt slept for two days , for that reason yeah some of the sentences are nonsense. I play wow 1-2 hours a week I play lineage II 1-2 hours a weel. And yes i program for ultima.. http://www.runuo.com you will find me..
what do you mean untrue? those pre-paid game cards are £15 at hmv. Plus for the festering pile of crap i wouldnt pay a penny.
So for a UO shard as opposed to the official UO? Thats cool By the way always have to ask this of people, how do oyu find the asian famringi n Lineage II at the moment?
But you said Which is untrue, it is not forn othing. it pays for updates/patches/continuosly evolving story/added features+levels/server maintenance/new servers/free fresh content/support/in game events (being done by staff who have wages to pay) etc. that why online games charge monthly fee and offline games dont.
Alis - thats cool, i actually have my own WoW emulated server running on a dedicated machine, I dont play WoW though becuase i dont like it, but i host it for people at my Uin to play, i play sometimes too, as it is free
ahh so you think they are charging more the nthey need to, but it isnt 'for nothing', oh and it is also market average, they are in a competative market like anybody else, most MMORPG's like WoW cost around the same.
I used to play but it took up too much of my time so I had to quit cold turkey. I had two level 60s in a matter of months.
That ruins the game. Not enough people for PVP, which is most fun part of game IMO I concur. WoW is amazing. It is a huge world that is constantly updating. This game has the most quests (maybe EQ1 has more) ever and they are constantly adding more. My friends got me the game and a 2 month game card for my birthday so I'm not complaining about the price atm. But you don't play a game like WoW without friends. With friends, this game is soooooooooooooooooooooooo fun. you do quests together, gank together, duel, run instances, craft stuff for each other, etc, etc. Graphics are terrific and there are loads of spells for every character/race. Every character has its advantages/disadvantages and these are always updated to make the characters more balanced. This game is constantly evolving.
Wyla - be carefule in your praise of woW, it isnt theo nly game offering such stuff, not by a long shot. and most quests in an online game? you need to try a few more before stating such things =D WoW is a relatively low content game compared to 'most' and is EXTREMELEY lacking ocntent (most of which fall into only a few types, like go and fetch, Kill X mobs, collect item a+B+C for no reason) compared to a lot of online games. and who says PvP is no good for a Uni hosted server? We have highs of around 21,000 concurent users on the SAME server playing together during summer (During summer we were granted the use of Uni based servers as part of a 'project') and also WoW is tiny compared to most online games, with poor GFX compared. the major problem with WoW is the advertising and audience it drew in, most who had never played an MMORPG game before, perhaps only with experience with online games such as CS/Doom3/Quake etc which are not MMOG's so WoW seems so 'amazing' to these players.
