Hello DP members, May I know how much time do you spend on research? I know it depends on what research you are doing for. For instance, you are doing research for a product or for a specific market. Do you take much time doing it or not? What do you think how much time is sufficient?
Research is the most important aspect of IM. It is not uncommon to spend a week or more on just research. There is no "suggested time". It only takes a minute to type in a word into a keyword tool, and another minute or so for the results. The hardest part is finding the niche, your target audience, where are they, who are they, what is the best way to market your keywords etc etc.
I don't know exactly how much time I research but I know I surely do alot of it especially keyword research. Research is extremly important prior to promoting a product.
Research is extremely important prior to promoting a product, so I think it is the first great step towards success. Hence, be sure to take time in doing it.
Well I do almost 1 hour of research before writing anything and Keyword search are a big time eater in that.
I first did two weeks research before I started my site. I don't know what is common but that worked fine for me.
Research work is very important for any website and it helps a lot in gaining more traffic, competitors activity and new ways of promotion areas for the website.
Being new at all this, I am fortunate enough to know that research is top priority. If I had jumped on the bandwagon of all the get rich quick sites, I would have lost a lot of money. As I have searched for answers two things have become obvious. Tons of research and tons of hard work is what I need to do to succeed in this business. There are unfortunately way too many people looking for easy money online.(Depending on your morals I suppose)
I have found that I now spend a lot more time on keyword competition analysis than I did at first. I find a good 3-4 hours saves me days in article writing and backlinks, as i have less competition to start with.
Good attitude and observation daniellindsay!! The good part is that while your tons of research will always be there, the hard work won't. Keep doing what you are now and everything will become easier for you as you go along. Once you learn how to do your research the old fashion way, there are tools available that makes everything much easier, well, almost everything. Good luck!!
Agreed! I would rather get 4 things done to see what one works, then waste time on only 1 in four hours. It's a numbers game!
Thank you so much guys for participating in this thread of mine. I admired all your answers. More power to you all!
