I have a translation site with info and get a good of custmers. I think, it makes no difference. Just make sure your content is good.
The value will depend on your domain name. You can not value a .info just by its extension, it makes no sense. Some .info are worth more than a .com as long as the content is right, if you want people to evaluate your domain then you will have to name it.
Dot info is my most common extension,. THey are cheap as pie, and they are about information, which I provide to people. Personally, as far as valuations I have had on sites, I dont see any difference in a dot info and any other domains. As long as the site that is on that domain is good, and the domain is good in relation to keywords and all that, then you are all good.
They are worth significantly less than .com's... but if you have VERY desirable keywords in the domain they could be worth something.
