I think that this is another dagger in the heart for Organic SEO with google..The search engines just seems way too "busy" now.. I mean you have to compare with PPC listings (soon to be ppc listings with sitelinks - atm only brand terms, News listings, now a huge friking real time listing... Example keyword "health care" http://www.google.com/webhp?hl=en&esrch=RTSearch#hl=en&esrch=RTSearch&q=health+care&fp=1&cad=b This is going to cost top organice keywords alot of $$$$ Because the normal click through rate been 40-50% (organic) will drop down to a much lower rate..
I see the real time results as the 4th listing...so I guess if you are in the top 3 there is still hope?
You've also got "local results" (maps) on a page and "shopping results". With all this crap, organics are below the fold. G's message is "You want a place on our pages? Pay me!"
A scrolling iframe or whatever it is, on a SERP page is a loser. They will remove that after a few months of testing. Bompa
Yeah I know its a killer for organic listings, I rank for some big entertainment keywords...google is cross promoting all their junk and it leaves you with no room to rank for your own sites related to the specific keyword...
So what does this mean for organic search publishers and affiliate marketer who rely on organic search vs. PPC? Shawn Drewry, CEO of DrewryNewsNetwork
Yeah!! That's really pushing the organic serp at bottom. I guess people now have to look for listing in Google News and keep updating the blog/site often to get the traffic.
well agreed.I guess this new search function of google is giving less room in organic search and people have to rely on other ways
Thats a big concern, If this experiment of real time listing is implemented permanently then Organic results will be able to share less than 20% of total clicks.
This is a problem, organic listing will share less than 10% on my opinion. And if you want to be better positioned, you'll have to pay...
