Digg is deleting my comments!

I feel really rubbish. I spent the whole morning skimming through articles. I even took the time to write very good comments and addressed all the points I could think of (with a link back to my article) and most of my comments have been deleted! :( Is it even worth it when that happens? should I carry on making comments anyway?

Commenting on digg and placing your link on your comments looks spammy in their eyes, especially if your article is not even related to the conversation.

Digg are crazy like this, they are great with spam, and also don't even bat an eyelid when they punish completely innocent people for no reason at all. A while back, I dugg a new website that I created, and it proved to be quite popular on Digg, scoring about 30 diggs within a matter of an hour. Digg banned my account, were abusive towards me when I wrote to support asking what happened, and told me that I was a liar and a cheat, and were using an unauthorized application to cheat. Couldn't believe it, totally not in my nature to do that! LOL

If you do comments in any unnatural way and spam through posting links in comments then it may possible that they will delete your comments or even disabled your membership.

I have to admit some of my links have not been directly related to the conversation just belonged to the same category however in most cases I took the time to read the article and comment on it and felt it was unfair to remove my comment. I've just re checked my account and a lot of comments are still up so hopefully it will stay that way when I check again tommorow morning! I think I might slow the link building down a little, maybe do a few links a day...

They actually called you a liar? LOL

since no one replied to my other thread I was wondering the exact benefits having a link from a dugg story gives? Does each comment page have its own unique pagerank?

I wouldn't call it spam because I made useful points and made perfect sense. i didn't talk rubbish in any of my comments. Perhaps it got deleted because the article wasn't really related to the story I dugg...

Yeah, they called me a liar and a scammer. I wish I still had the e-mail, I would happily share it with everyone for a giggle. LOL

The benefit for me is more exposure to my articles and my content. At least 25% of my traffic on one of my sites over the past 3 months has come from one very successful digg that surprisingly has only been dugg 3 times. Diggs get search engine listed, and as long as you have the right keywords, boom! You have a ton of traffic coming your way.

I'm surprised that Digg could be so unprofessional!

so you do it for traffic? does it bring any other benefits. I thought it would count as a backlink from a page with a unique pagerank. I think I read that somewhere or I may have read it wrong...

mainly for the exposure. From my experience, back links on social sites such as Digg dont do too much in the way of back links, but more than anything, they attract people to the content, and if they like it, then they too will link to it.

Well, you can contact them if you think they were not a spam.
Just explain everything and hear from them.

I just discovered that Digg has banned ezinearticles from being submitted. So much for them as a benefit to article marketing.

Well its always a problem when you have to rely on 3rd party's like Digg what they do with your content will always be out of your control and there is not much you can do about it.

Yeah. I got banned form DIGG, too. As well as Yahoo Answers.

    Oh, well.

Like Amazon books, DIGG's staff is made up mostly of young adults, college students. They can come in with their flip flops, their skateboards, their dogs.... They pretty much have free range over the place. Overtime of working in such an environment, they abuse their privileges by not focusing on the "customer."

And if you try to get a "supervisor"...well, the odds are that it is a friend or good coworker of the person you are reporting.

That's just the way it is with many Internet businesses.
