Today I wrote an article for EA because of all the positive comments I hear in this thread-hopefully I'll get a better SERP and rank.

    Thanks to all DP-users!

With EA, you need to be careful with certain topics, especially with the "making money" one.

Articles and blog posts are similar, depending on the type of posting you are doing. Just go to ezine articles dot com and read some articles to see the difference. Read the ones with the same topics as you plan on writing about.

EZA is my number one source of traffic. All it takes is a keyword rich, quality content article to get ranked high on Google. The search engine spiders love EZA so the more you put on their directory the better chances you have at getting traffic from this source.

If you'd like to talk any more about article marketing and how it can help your business don't be shy to send me a messege I'd be glad to help.

I don't use this nearly enough, but have made it a New Year's Resoluton to write more articles.

Yes, I'll tell. First my article has to be proofed, I hope it does not take longer than 5 days... I also admitted an article at articlebase.com, I hope this will help as well. I decided to submit more and more articles to article directories in the next time.... haven't got much time but maybe someone wants to do some business.

Don't get the wrong idea. To me there are basically 3 types of articles.

    1. Write an article for back links only. This type of article is usually short, doesn't say much, and is used to get the 2 back links in the resource box. They are normally in the 300 - 350 word range and is the type of articles that EA is trying to get rid of:))

    2. Write a sales type article. This type is meant to give some good info, but not everything. You want to sucker the reader into clicking on your link so they can find the answer they were looking for in the first place. Here is where you landing page or site better be good, or if you are redirecting to the affiliate site, make sure their sales page is good.

    3. The third type is written trying to convince the reader you are an expert and know everything about the subject. You give them all of the info and hope that you impress them to click thru to your site to see what else you have to offer. In this case you would want to try to set up an "authority" type site. Very few banners and no sales pitches etc. Just pure info. These type of sites normally do well and if done right, require very little maintenance.

At least, this is the way I view using articles. I don't use #1 at all. The other 2 works really well, depending on the subject. Getting your article to show up in the SERPs is only half the battle and does not guarantee you anything.

    Hope this helps,

Thanks for your answer! I definately wrote Tpye 3. Of course I think it's helpful to set a good backlink to a quality article, but I don't wanted to sell something through my information.
PS: The article at articlebase was accepted!

It is amazing what EA can do for you. I have a "winning" article that I wrote over 2 years ago that is still driving traffic to a website & the site makes about 1 or 2 sales a month.

It is hard to figure out what article will take off like crazy though. I have submitted dozens of articles over the years, yet only a handful have been "winners"

That is why most article marketing reports say to submit lots of articles I guess, with the theory it is a numbers game.

What I do now, is submit (1) article, wait a couple of weeks and see how it does. If it is a winner, no need to submit more, if not, I will write another.

BTW, I have submitted articles to other top directories. None of the other directories come close to EA's power.

    :)

EzineArticles is the best place ever to get your site indexed within a week, if I'm working on a new site I get an article up firstly before even starting on the site!

If you have a tiny niche then one article will get you on first page of Google if you have a decent domain name and related copy. It's true that you may want to use the articles on your blog like someone mentioned instead of building up their site, the click through rate is like 1-3% so you'll need a crap load of articles to create some reliable traffic

Like others, I've found EzineArticles to be helpful, but I could certainly survive without it. It's a good site, I would definitely recommend it to others. But I would encourage no one to put all their eggs into one basket. There are lots of places and methods to get high quality traffic.

    1. Any article you write and deposit on article directory will get you backlinks, provided that site does not have a "no follow script". However, your backlinks must be related to the theme of the site your ranking to. Think about how the web surfer looks for information. He searches surfing, he comes across surfboards then gets linked to "baking muffins"? Makes no sense. Google has encountered a lot of the problem in the past. So they place high importance on theme relevance. Hence the importance of the right kind of backlinks.

    2. Perhaps "suckering" someone to buy is a little strong. I would say tease them to learn more, hence they will have to click on the link your resource box. It takes practice to get the wording just right.

    3. Third is the most prevalent. Helpful tips are always handy. OF course, you can always pick three things about your product that solves a common problem related to that niche. You could also check forums and see the types of questions people commonly ask. Go to Yahoo answers and see the types of questions people ask there. Create an article answering that question and then offer more info or a real solution when someone clicks on the link you point them to.

Like everything else assoicated with IM, you need to do good keyword research and then go from there. If you hit it right there is no reason that 15 minutes of work for writing one article can't bring you literally thousands of dollars.

Even without the monetary success, they make for GREAT backlinks.
