Dear All I recently had an offer for a PR5 website (very low price). I tried to see it in google and yahoo and to my surpise it is not indexed in google and yahoo but still has a pagerank of 5. Is it worth buying it? cheers prasad..
Have a look at SEOmoz Page Strength Tool (based on all kinds of data) or the Sootle Website Worth Tool (based only on Yahoo backlinks). There is another good one, but I can't remember where it is at the momemnt. Hope that helps... Cryo.
The Sootle tool doesn't seem like its very accurate heh, i'd firstly check if the PR is real at http://livepr.raketforskning.com/
it has a page rank of 5 and no listings in google. Is that possible? Is it that he is banned from google? how to check this? Thanks for the tools. cheers prasad..
not a conclusive answer from the banned tool. I suppose he is banned for sure. Why would a stanger sell a pr5 domain for 25$??

hmm... i always thought that if a site is banned, it won't have any toolbar pr... how did you check for listings in google? using the site command?
where was the offer, you can have google PR 6-7-8-9 so its easy, may be this site is the same ,a fake PR
I checked the pr in my toolbar and also in page rank checkers online and the links by using the site command in both yahoo and google and it has no listings in both yahoo and google. Frankly, after seeing the site I felt it is definitely duplicate content...
if it is a good domain name maybe be the site is worth it else if it is a crap domain and the website is dupl content it might be more work than it is worth, then again $25 isnt a lot of money so something else must be up.
