Problem with DP Member :(

I paid a member on Digital Point forums to create me a video for me to use marketing wise for one of my websites.

Even though the member said the wrong URL twice in the video (So i had to edit it) and DIDNT include the watermark as agreed i still paid the member for their time as they promised to redo the video... my own stupid fault for believing them

Ive now seen that they have uploaded the video to their own youtube account and has put a banner OVER the video, saying "Do not go to this site.... instead go to......"

The member first promised to fix the video, (i.e. correct URL, watermark etc) and has now stopped replying to PM's since ive asked for the video to be removed.

    so to recap......

"Wrong URL mentioned in the Video twice"
    "Wrong watermark"
"uploaded to their own youtube account, telling members to not go to my site and visit a different URL"

First i get the excuse because his GF left him thats why he messed up and said the wrong URL twice?!

Now i get a pm saying:

"mate my personal computer has been hacked.
all my passwords have been stolen.
my paypal has also been hacked. in my paypal account, i have about $759
all of them are now gone.
i have not uploaded the video on youtube.
it has been done by the hacker.
i have reported this tragedy to the Police authority and F.B.I. will surely trace that hacker.
    i am helpless.
i am very poor and all my hard earned money was in paypal account.
    now it is gone.
it has became hard for me to even take meals.
i have not taken any food from last 2 days.
i am crying and in search of some help.
    sorry for the inconvenience.
    but i can't do anything.
please let me know if i can do anything for you. "

His name on DP forums is "crysis750" and he is not to be trusted...

Letting others know so they dont go through the same rubbish ive had 2

See if you can obtain the video without the url watermark. You should be able to add it yourself so at least you can still use the video for marketing purposes.

If you paid through paypal then use 'chargeback' option for getting your money back.

    DON.

Members like that should be instantly banned, i mean that PM Paulie received looks like the worse excuse ive ever seen.

Ive had to edit the video (chopped last section off which mentions competitions URL) and put text over the top where it matters...

Ill end up having the video re-done now, though until that time ill be using the one ive paid for. Just makes me sick that not only could he screw the job up in such a way, but the way he responds to pm's... what he'd done in terms of uploading it to his own account and telling people not to go to my site....

And then after all that, rather than say "sorry, ill take it down" instead i get a load of lies :(

Thats why its said not to do deal with members having low itraders..

And you should not have paid in advance to a newbie.
Or may had payed just 25%.

    I never paid upfront...

I paid afterwards.... Doing the video wrong was one thing, uploading to their account with a banner over the top saying "dont go to his site..." is another...

I never saw the video on their account until after id paid, by which point it was too late.

    Wow, that's terrible.
I wouldn't give a cent to that jerk.
If people act like that, I just ignore them and say deal off.
Even though, you probably didn't know he was like that until after everything happened.
Sucks that you sent that money to a 'poor' person.
Best thing to do is to open a dispute at PayPal and you should probably get it back.
If not, Paypal will at least put him in the -XX money.

    Sorry that happened though.
I actually had someone do this to me, except I was getting paid.
He paid me $$, and I gave him what I told him.
The next day, he opens a dispute about 'Not what he was talking about' or something, meaning apparently, I 'lied' to him.
So anyways, I sent him back the money so it would be over with.
Gotta hate it when this happens.

I sent the money as a gift so it cant be done.

Is silly really, his youtube account has alot of friends, subscribers etc etc

He does good reviews so is hard to belive the way he communicates on a personal level :(

    Live and learn....
