eBook or Blog Posts, which is better?

    Hey,

I've decided that I want to create some guides on logo design, but I'm not sure which way to go about doing this. I can either wrap it all up nicely in a good looking ebook and post that around the web to get spread, or I can post each section individually on my design blog (noticably bare).

My overall gain is to both spread the knowledge as much as I can, and increase traffic to my blog and therefore to my website which will therefore hopefully convert into sales.

So, which would you choose? eBook or blog posts (or both) ?

    Thanks in advance!
    Hecky.

If your goal is to get traffic on your blog, I'd definitely recommend you post the guides there, rather than just putting them in an ebook.

Doing both wouldn't hurt though. You could spread the ebook around, while also getting traffic on your blog from people searching for logo design guides/tutorials. Plus, like you mentioned, your blog is sort of bare and could use some more content.

Blogs are much better than ebooks. Ebooks - there are loads of them out there and a lot of them sit unread. Blogs, on the other hand are easier to digest.

It really depends on your goal. If you are using the guide to drive business to you then your blog will work wonders. At the same time, if you want to make money with just the guide I recommend the e-book. Of course if you choose to make the e-book you will then have to market it so you can get buyers. I say if you go e-book method, give the first part away this can convert readers into buyers.

Do both. Package the most valuable information into an ebook which you can sell, and use the blog as a medium for marketing the ebook.

I think I'll post everything that's in the book on the blog, and then just compile it all into a nice looking ebook which will also be free :). Thanks all.

    I second this individuals thoughts.

What's the harm in doing both? None.

    Do both. Highly recommended.

If it's longer guide then seperate it and publish on your blog with 3 posts - part 1 2 3. In the end just say that you combined all that in an ebook, free to download.

    More will come I think
