normal submission vs Reciprocal

Almost every directory have this option to submit with a reciprocal link! So far I have never done it before and I'm wondering if it worth the trouble!

Do you usually post in directories using reciprocal link? How can we benefit from it? (one way links are supposed to be better for SEO)

Also wondering if you pay for "premium" submissions and if it worth it!

    Thanks for advice.

one way link is batter then reciprocal link exchange. in case of directory its batter to submit one way link because reciprocal link is increase outgoing link count from your which is not beneficial for improve ranking .

IMO the only paid directories worth the $$$ are Yahoo!, botw.org, and Business.com. These get significant traffic and supposedly are not seen as paid links according to Matt Cutts because they have a manual review process where they actually do reject unworthy links.

If you can find directories that specialize in your niche then a link from there might be worth the submission. But in general, Google is devaluing links from a lot of directories these days because mass directory submissions have been abused by spammers and blackhat SEO who use it as a method of building lots of low quality backlinks rather than taking the time and effort to build quality backlinks.

I would never use recipricol link directories. I'd rather pay for a submission at 100 different directories and get the one way link than to have a page on my site with links to 100 crappy directories.

I think Reciprocal is a waist of time if you are doing it for SEO purposes. It is obvious to search engines that you are exchanging links. For SEO purposes you have to come up with creative ways to build "naturally forming" links.

I agree with the above posters that reciprocal links are a waste of time..

Plus they make your site look ghetto.

I see palces always try to sell that, like I want a link to your pr0 spam directory on my websites?
Why? So it looks like garbage and is worth absolutely nothing..lol

Always one way link is better it;'s easy and simple if you chose reciprocal you need to palce directory link on your site which your outbound link count increase and you will not get much profit for that case and it's also very time consumed

The vast majority of directory submissions are worthless, regardless of whether or not you link back to them.

Here's why you don't want to give a reciprocal link to the directory — most of those directories will not make it. Many of the dropped domains will be bought by someone else, and you have no control over what type of website that may become (porn, warez, pharmacy, etc.). Do you want a bunch of links on your website going out to that type of website?
