I was wondering what SEO experts do for catching some links on big sites like Nasa or USA ones. And some freelancers promisses links even in the home pages! How do they do?
homepage link on NASA? only way i can think of getting homepage link on NASA is by funding their next trip to MARS
Dude are you high ? Do you expect NASA to link to you ? Or maybe you're FBI partner and get some traffic. lol.
.edu and .gov domains carry no more weight than any other type of domain. Who say? Matt Cutts actually. As for getting links onto high-quality sites, yes it is possible but you need to use a technique not much talked about to find those links, related to finding site "footprints". There are a few books that cover finding "footprints" if you look for them hard enough.
I have a link or two from NASA...not their homepage though. A few astronauts have blogs with the nasa.gov URL which accept comments. The problem is getting them approved and it seems to only work without anchor text making them less valuable then they would otherwise be.
Can you talk a little more about these "footprints" or somewhere to find this information? That's good to know, I'll search for these blogs a little more. Thanks for the help, people (and maybe the Nasa links are in these blogs or in the forum, hehe)!
This is a crooked method that I found. It does work, but it is not recommend. I see a lot of junk sites show up in the serps that do this: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/xss-how-to-get-20-gov-links-in-20-minutes Interesting none the less. I had it in my bookmarks.
