I have had nothing but trouble with Godaddy and Im movin registrars. Everytime I have sold a domain name or tried transfering a domain name out of Godaddy it has been one big hassle. Their customer service is dead set rude and do very little to help. To top it all off I am now having another problem with a domain name that I have had for over 1 year which i just sold. They are trying to tell me I cant transfer for 60days..what a crock of sh#t. This is my freakin domain name!!! Im havin a really bad day my wife goes in for an operation today to try gettin rid of her cancer and I have to put up with crap customer service from these punks! Goodbye Godaddy.. This is my opinion and Im sure there are others out there. Would love to hear from your experiences with Godaddy..
Personally i haven't had too many issues with GoDaddy but now operate through my owner reseller account powered by Wild West Domains. I bought into the scheme which means i get domains at a low buy price so can under cut some of the prices that godaddy offers. If anyone is interested in seeing just how low i am able to sell them at (0% profit on these as no time to develop a site for it) go to www.dnsnetwork.net.
I try not to deal with them at all. I have one .me domain that I host there becuase its cheaper there other than that I avoid. I use urlfreedom.com owned by DietzelDietzel, Inc They run a point for domain type network of sites but also sell domains. Support is great and prompt, (I've even im'd the owner) transfers are very easy (I've only transfered between other urlfreedom accounts) Anyway They're cheaper, faster, and just seem to work better.
well, just on DP, i got the infor that the price offered by Godaddy is just for the first year, and difference will emerge in the next years, i mean the renewal fee is a little high.
Looks like I the domain name I am currently having hassles with is being fixed up after I told them I would put an official complaint in against them? Normally I dont have any issues with godaddy its just sooo much of a hassle to transfer domains out of there. Customer service is getting poorer though they need to work on that if they want to keep the rep they have.
Godaddy is a shit company. I dont know any serious Internet Marketers that deal with them. The real joke is their hosting, pffff I use 1&1
I know a lot of marketers have had trouble using Godaddy. Personally I've used them for over 10yrs - and the only registrar I have ever used I deal with them on a daily basis - buying and selling websites/domains and pushing/transferring domains daily. Never had any major problem to date (lets hope it stays that way or I'll need move onto namecheap or some other )
In 10 years I have never had an issue with godaddy. Hosting leaves a bit to be desired because everything is locked down. Domain names are not an issue with those folks and the never have been. I find them to be quite friendly actually. Nigel
90% of everything I've heard about godaddy has been bad. I use namecheap for domain management, hostgator for an unlimited reseller account, and other specialty webhosts.
i just registered from godaddy... i have made all the settings and now after 3 days they are asking me for payment varification... and if i dont do verification than they will close my a/c with domain!!! what to do now? i used my sisters credit card!!
Godaddy is better. But, other register have no problem for domain transfer. I so many register. Every body must help you to transfer your domain. If they not, you may complain ICANN. Besides, I use so many company, I feel great problem to transfer domain only from godaddy. Other is really easy.Because, maximum company provide you auth code. But, for godaddy, you need to request them a mail for auth code. I small change my contact, godaddy inform me,I can transfer my domain after 60 days of change of owner address! You inform, 60 days time! Even register takes 60 days time after registration. Its the rules of ICANN. Even, godaddy have also same rules. For domain transfer, every company rules is same.
I have had no problems at all with Godaddy, but maybe I have just been lucky... I thought the 60 day thing was for newly registered/perchaced domains as an attempt to protect sellers, (IE: stop scammers buying domains off someone using PayPal, once the scammers have the domains (instantly) in their GoDaddy account, transfer them to another registrar and issue a chargeback to PayPal) As you say you have owned the domain over a year, there must be some mistake. I use them for all my domains.., Just as a coincidental side note, I got Bundaberg.me (The OP's home town ) Good to hear its getting sorted out. Cheers James
well, the fact is Godaddy is taking up the top one in domains, and any other provider can't ignore this, it's so hard to crack it.
yer i prefer NameCheap.its best out of em all.i also use netfirms they aren't to bad.but slow control panel. NameCheap is simple and fast
Bundaberg.me lol thats cool. now can you BundabergRum.me so I can get drunk heehehe.. looks like my problem is getting sold but due to the support and how long it takes to get a email reply I am changing over.. Might go to namecheap.com bit of a tuff choice?
