Very soon we have to dial one more '9' when dialing to Indian mobile user. The estimated subcriber base is completed well before then expected, to cover more subscriber TRAI(Telephone Regulatory Authority of India) has decided to go for 11 digit instead of 10. G!
Ya, that will keep increasing as the number of mobile holders are increasing day by day. - Mr.President -
why ??? why not start giving numbers with 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 first... like how DOCOMO has started giving numbers starting with 8
That would have been best if they have started with 11 digit from day one, as it always happens that they have to increase the digit after some time. Previously I remember telephone Nos were of six digits only, now they are eight. G!
yea but now maybe instead of making it 11 make it 12 from now so no need to change it again for a longer time...
I think it won't be changed to 11 digits right now... as BOHRA says only the number begins up with 8 or 7 like that. Already now many operators begin using 8 ,eg DOCOMO and Airtel. And also now came long expected mobile number portability has introduced, so there wont be more new connections as before but i am not saying there won't be any new customers, but it would be decreased as customers now able to change over to the other operator with same mobile number
Actually as per their study the expected subscribed base was 2010, but that was achieved one year before that. The mobile portability would have that much of effect? G!
