well, hard to find, or there s so much work to do to make it usable that you r better with buying one. youjoomla released one recently, i hate the colors but it s very light and lot of css so, easy to modify, they sell it as standalone, no need to buy pay the annual fee. it s named younews

You should try out the original SEO template from Alledia.com then. Not free but a hell of a lot easier to customise.

most of the free templates are not dead hot templates. There usally not meant to be used on professionnal sites. The point is that they often come handy for non commercial sites or niche sites o
With Artisteer you can make your own templates. It's not expensive and you can make an original template if you use your psd as a background. They are quite good.
i meaned squared designs, with box model, not squared modules. Important in designs from template clubs are also the scripts they offer
In my opinion free Joomla templates are worthy which are released by the the premium website template makers for free for the user. so we have to keep track on these sites only ..
