From what I hear digg is good at a few things regarding your web sites :

    1. Crashing your server / web site.
    2. Generating a lot of back links.
    3. Getting lots of visitors at first, but few clicks as most the visitors are "ad savy".

Anyhow - that's what I've read from other people who have gotten digg traffic.

you post an artical and if the viewers "digg it" "like it" they click digg meaning they like it
the more that like it the hits to the artical/site

I use digg personally as I think it is a really good website.

I also do tend to submit some articles from my own site in the hope they may make the front page.

One did - and a wall of traffic hit the server. No revenue directly from that, but it spawned a heck of a lot of blog chatter, and my backlinks jumped sharply.

However, don't spam digg - as a user it is bloody annoying to undigg crud and mark it as "lame" all the time.

Only submit stuff which you think is genuinely going to be of interest to fellow digg'rs.
