what is a good software (cheap?) or free way to integrate some campaign tracking into a site?

for ppc and seo i can use google analytics & ppc systems. however, i dont have a good way for other sem like mailing list, twitter, banners (media buying), etc. in the past i have done a lot of affiliate marketing and have thus relied on the merchant to do all the tracking.

i am trying to build my own product and not sure about this component.

my last two options are to use google analytics but it might not be best or have it custom coded, which i am not sure how it should be done.

any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Google Analytics lets you track goals, which works for just about anything. Easy to setup, you just need to add some custom JS code to each conversion page.

Use expirable links to create time pressure. The ones you can get at we.elfdit.com have tracking as well and you can pick a redirect page to send your visitors to after the link expires!

ya i dont think that it is great for non-ppc or seo traffic. this is currently my only free option. also dont have much experience with using analytics for non ppc or seo traffic. the setup was weird for email or social media traffic.

i am considering some subscription services but rather have a free or open source. last resort is to buy some software.

Analytics is the easiest for all kinds of traffic, a good but not free alternative is letting someone code something for you. Very popular and really working well: Tracking202/Prosper202, but it's tailored towards PPC.

not really looking for something custom coded. rather have a mature script.

i could see this marketing campaign tracking integrated with an affiliate tracking script.

any other ideas? for the mean time i will try out analytics.
