How many backlinks can bring my website up to PR3?

Discussion in 'Search Engine Optimization' started by faast, Dec 2, 2009.

My website is already pr3 now, I don't think I spend enough time to build backlinks, but PR3 is showing at the google toolbar.
I have another website and I spent double time on it, submitted it to directories. But that one just got PR2.
So I got confuse, more backlinks create less PR value!?

It is all about how much value the sites where you submit your link got. If they got PR0, then it won't help your PR2 out much.

    Hi!

I suggest you to get high quality follow links from related sites in your language. You can get PR3 having just ONE link from high ranked (PR3+) site in related subject. Also, put the link to your site from the HOMEPAGE or the page that has less outbound links.

    Good luck!

You shouldn't really worry all that much about PR. I have over 10k backlinks on one of my websites, and it's only PR2.

If you are aiming to get a PR3 and up you need to get backlinks to PR3 and above sites. Linking to lower PR sites won't be beneficial to you.

I have a PR4 blog and currently has 3892 backlinks. Now, you can calculate how many backlinks you need.

    And I have a website with PR2 with 1 (ONE) backlink. :)

Now, can you calculate how many links do you need to get the needed PR?

    It's VERY complicated.

Even if you have a strong backlink of PR4 or PR5, you will get it easily. :)
But that depends on many factors.

Now, how can we explain the QUALITY of the backlink?

    -PR website
    -PR page
    -TrustRank Site
    -Subject
    -Outbound Links
    -Language
    -IP country
    -Content and link placement
    ... something else?

I think we should ask Matt at Google. haha. I think it depends on PR of sites you put your links on.

If they took away PR what would it mean? The same as now - nothing. Concentrate on building traffic not PR.
