Where to start, this is a small guide for newbies, and a big wake up call aswell. The times where you could sit down one night, bust a website out with a decent domain and make 10 sales within a week...have gone. Newbies come to the webmaster world seeking fast profits, quick cash and big bonuses, well im sorry but thats just not going to happen anymore. "I have a good niche" you say, well hell...you could make a website selling custom mouse mats with pictures of mules taking pink shits on midgets with orange hair and pin striped suits..and you know what, you would still have competition...because the market is so saturated with this amateur bullshit... "But i follow methods from super cool catchy get rich ebooks" i hear you thinking. You know, i bought 3 ebooks on get rich on the net bullshit, after reading them all, i noticed they give you all the same techniques, just in different orders..and they were all wrote 3+ years ago by guys that dont even use those techniques, they just get rich off the ebook sales..so be a moron..buy a get rich quick book.. You need to re-invent the wheel, when your car has 100,000 miles, you need a new one, same with ideas, once the idea has been saturated..you need a new one.. INNOVATION.CEATIVITY.CONVERSION ICC Marketing ? who are you kidding, we all know your site int making sales because it looks like 30 billion other sites, its not about marketing, its not about the ad servers screwing you over, its about your site. Its Shit. PurdysPills has a site with one of those drawn out blank info crammed websites with join links all over it. ChimpsPills has a crisp designed website, with adequate information, a seal of guarentee and join link. each site received 1000 visits. PurdysPills converion rate: 1:680 ChimpsPills conversion rate: 1:298 So dont bitch and winge in forums about getting screwed...sort your shit out, re-invent the wheel, dont be afraid, be wacky, be funky. stand out niche keyword in domain name domain name in meta keywords domain short and sweet build links for organic traffic submit to dmoz and yahoo directory (search engines love both) If your not converting, then your not standing out enough, dont think "oh im not converting, fuck this idea" your not converting...because your not following this guide properly.
Not so clearly explained, had to read it a few times, but yeah thats a pretty good tip. If your conversions suck, sometimes you should worry more about optimizing your current traffic rather than trying to get more traffic
Amatuers and new people to the industry need to have it bluntly put accross the them, or they continue to live in there dream world.
