I had someone suggest clickbank to sell my eBook. Right now I'm selling my eBook directly off my site through Pay Pal and so I get almost all the profits. Clickbank sounds pretty good, except for one thing: you have to give some of your money to clickbank whereas right now I get to keep it all except for the transaction cost. So, obviously, the decision boils down to this: does clickbank generate enough affiliate revenue to justify giving them some of my hard-earned sales? I find it hard to believe that there's a bunch of bloggers out there just dying to grab my eBook and promote it. I find it even hard to believe that there are SUCCESSFUL bloggers out there that can sell my eBook. But I'm certainly open to the idea. Anybody have any experiences/comments to share? I'd appreciate any knowledgeable advice...
You make a good point on having to dish some money there way. But don't forget they are on a high level, and well wouldn't you rather sell massive amounts of your ebook and give out a little then sell a few and keep it all. I would suggest doing some comparisons to see if this route works well for you. Plus, maybe its a tax deduction.
So you're saying just try clickbank for awhile? So I can just pull the plug anytime I want, right, i.e. just go back to my old PayPal ways of doing things, right?
You doubt people on clickbank can sell your ebook? Do you have any idea of the millions being sent out by clickbank monthly -- it's tremendous. If your product is good, sales page good, percentage paid good, affs will pick it up. Run the numbers on something like cb engine. Lots of affs participating and selling millions in products. If you have a good product, stop micro managing it and let an army of affiliates sell it for you.
Well in term of overall profits I am going to have to say CLICKBANK... Let's be honest... it's where the Affiliates are at... and lots of Affiliates = WAAAAY MORE MONEY! I do sell books independently and on PAYDOTCOM, but my highest grossing books are on Clickbank and it's simply because they have lots more affiliates! I am actually in the process of migrating each and every digital product I sell to Clickbank... I suggest you do the same James
What's the investment needed in order to start with ClickBank? Is there any risk to lose money you don't possess? I'm certainly interested in selling my e-book there.
CB will draw MANY affiliates if your payout is good. You need to realize the philosopy behind it: a) You can STILL sell your product via paypal the usual way b) You put it also on CB and offer attractive commission (AT LEAST 50%, if not 75%). You do NOT need to promote, do Adwords etc..etc...your affiliates are doing all this for YOU. So..you get less money/sale, but many people might want to promote your product...its still a win-win situation. 100 sales a day where you "only" get $10 is still $1000...just an example.
I've just finished writing my ebook, and was wondering how to market it, so this advice is timely. I was leaning towards Clickbank anyway, but this thread confirms it.
You can have the best of 2 worlds - keep selling your ebook via Paypal on your website and add it also to Clickbank. This way all the money you will get from Clickbank will be an extra income.
Clickbank exposes your product to thousands of affiliate marketers. Playing the numbers here where you may make more money from 2000 sales from affiliates vs. 50 sales from your site directly.
I am in the process of making two ebooks. I will sell both on ClickBank. It is the best way to do it. I will get many more sales a day due to that. Also, even if it only makes a sale or two a day, that is two extra buyers and some extra money from it anyway. Let alone having a super affiliate pick it up!
I sell a lot of clickbank books ( 350 - 400 a week) and I am sure that I am not a big dog there. I don't know if you are allowed but if you can do both that may be a way to maximize your situation.
Amazon allows, from what I understand anyway, for me to do both if that's what you're asking. If I'm missing something, though, let me know.
I thought the thread was dead, so sorry to respond so late. I have a question: what is considered a "good" percentage paid? I would like to attract affiliates and this is my first time. Any advice on this would be much appreciated.
