    Microsoft Security Essentials beats even NOD for lightweight-ness. That's one of the main things I look at in an anti-virus tool.

    I will also vote for AVG.. It is more accurate than avira when detecting any malicious virus like cookies. :D

    prefer norton but in my opinion the best antivirus is when u get it with cost or u spend some money for it...then u will get premium one...

    I think the best antivirus today are Shield Deluxe, Trend Micro Antivirus Internet Security, Norton AntiVirus, ZoneAlarm Anti-virus and AVG.

    i think Norton has worked well for me from years but i think kaspersky is also good but i don't get's it's license or cracked version easily over net
