Well I too have a lot to complain about Google. It has not indexed my site after the first time it indexed it. I can see pages which has all those page-2 king of permalinks in my wordpress blog....it has been a long time since i have changed my permalinks and done a lot of changes to my site still google is not indexing my new pages even after submitting again and again

There are some dead links, happens with people that give up on their sites or just removed their content.

A very logical reason teling why google is slow is indexing. I feel Google should follow this approcah in the long run too as this will help it to deliver better and quality content.

Even if Google is slow, I always manage to get indexed fast. I don't look for quality backlinks, I simply publish a post in my blogger-blog with the link in it. It works great!

You still need some backlinks, it does boost traffic a little!

If you want to get indexed quickly, firstly make sure everything with your site is perfect. Then you can ping your site using numerous pinging tools and write some articles. You can also start getting backlinks, but do so moderately, such as 50 a week, not 50 one day, then 2 weeks later 200.

I'm totally confused about some comments. Some people create blogs and put irrelevant posts once a year and still expect google to come and index every day... why?

    This is completelly Wrong.

    - A .info site is indexed in a month... Wrong. You can index it hours
    - Google doesn't index your site to spy if you are an spammer. Wrong

Give Google a completelly new, unique, interesting content with a lot of buzz you will be indexed in an hour.
You have to offer new content, why would Google index a crappy content with nothing new in it?
Are you backlinking your sites? And? Think that nowdays everybody ping and backlink their site. Try to put your site in a high PR site. You will see your site indexed in no time.
In this moment .info domains are as good as .com site.
The next algorithm of Google, Caffeine will index much more fast (they say).
