How to create own forum website ?

I really in need of this answer because i want to create mine own forum website where i can earn money from mine publishing ads i know how to promote my forum but don't know the below points :

1) Dont know how to start or don't know from where i get forum website.

2) Dont know how can create forum website and how to host it .

3) I have listen that we have too put some script in our website to built forum website i don't know which script is that and how to install.

4) Dont know how much it cost . I m having now just 10 $ in mine paypal account can i able to start and pay in installment

Can anyone clear mine above points and helps me to create mine own forum website with easy and best way ....

Begin by finding the domain you want, will it get hits? will it suceed? is it a niche im familiar with? are all questions you should be asking yourself, use domaintyper.com to find a great domain quickly.

There are many scripts, some free some pay, I advise you try phpbb (google it) its very adept.

$10 is enough for a domain, and you can get the hosting free, phpbb is also free, so your good to go!

 

Don't use free webhost. Especially for a forum you need quality hosting. The first fault is not no take unlimited hosting.

You can expand any website over time, your forum wont be getting a million hits a day when its first made, so wont require unlimited hosting.

Transferring forums over is a 5 minute job.

I would use that $10 to pay for either the domain OR the hosting.

I know what I was writing about. Everyone, nearly every professional website owner tells you the same- with good reasons.

 

You can easily setup your own board without investing any money. Just read some tutorials about board scripts (PunBB or phpBB are nice for beginners), trust me its not so difficult.. and after that u can spend your PayPal ten bucks in other way

 

Please clarify why you need unlimited hosting so badly.

It takes me 5 minutes to transfer forum over from free hosting to my vps with unmetered b/w.

Provide facts please.

 

First of all, it's not so easy to transfer a forum with many memebers because of the database. But, secondly, if you use a freehost, all the files and things can be deleted from one day to another.
-less capacity
-more risk
-less professional
-and of course, you always get into trouble- if you drive a well visitied forum, in every case

 

I have never had a problem transferring databases, even with userbase of over 50,000. Not one problem.
The point is, you can scale up, most forums dont use that much space anyway, and 000webhost offers enough capacity to begin with.
The risk is minimal if you are cautious yourself (take backups yourself)
If this was 'professional' he would have a higher budget than $10 dont you think?
If your forum is well visited, then that is the time to scale it up.

I guess you must have had a very bad experience with freehosts, I advise you to try 000webhost, they are very good, even in technical support.

 

PHPBB is easy to use and setup. I would go that route.

 

That's true.. I used free hosting earlier and they deleted my websites after 30 days because I didn't visited my hosting provider. That was very bad as I was having good reputation and traffic..

So, I would suggest you to get at least $50 to make a good start.

 

Allright, everyone should find the best solution for himself. Thanks for you advice for 000webhost, I head it before, but maybe I should try them out with another Wordpress site

 

I think we should just answer the question: It will cost you to set up a domain and hosting. I recommend 123-reg for the domian and ICDSoft for the hosting; there are cheaper companies out there but I see these as the best.

A forum can be made easy with either; phpBB or vbulletin both are very good
