where do i find people who would be interested in posting on my site? ive been to numerous forums and asked, but have came up almost empty. my site is an all sports forum, and have been to several forums of each sport..any ideas? i need people to post on a daily basis
Well, this forum is a good place to start. I know lots of people here are willing to help each other, etc....
Participate in Communities. Create Blog content that leads them to your Forum. The bottom line with Forums is the user really has to have a reason to participate. For example. If you have a Forum about Cars and you are a Mechanic you have a better shot at getting people to participate by answering their questions. You need to advertise your Forum like any other project so you can build word of mouth reputation. Think about why you came here and what you found.
I'm afraid I've had the same response - only 38 people on my money making forum. I set it up with high hopes so people could post their money making plans and affiliate links, promoted it a bit with no success and lost interest Perhaps this post will encourage me to do some more promotion. (the link is http://www.money-makingopportunities.com/forum/ if anyone is interested. Cheers,
Do you offer valuable content to attract people to the forum? Since your allowing affiliate links to be posted, how do you prevent your forum from becoming spam filled and remain of value? Jamie
well i offer unique content..i just dont know where i can 'recruit' people..ive gotten a couple, but that was really lucky
Where is your "unique content"? There are not that many posts in the forum overall. Your main page has a pop-up, which I would get rid of. I would create more content on your forum and on your site. Make a list of common FAQ's in your industry and post them. You only have 2 back links to your main site from 2 ezine articles. Build your site, and wait for higher organic search engine placement, contribute to other sites that attract visitors to your site, or pay for traffic through advertisements. Good Luck Jamie Dolan
Jamie, I've written over 100 articles, all linking back to my home page, so I hope I'm giving people valuable content. Perhaps I haven't pushed the fact that there actually is a forum - it's just a menu item at the top, perhaps people don't notice it up there. As for spam, with so few members I can moderate it myself. Cheers
The best is participating on similar forums. As long as you provide useful content to people, they would keep coming back. And there is no miracle really, you have to work hard for a long time to get a forum established; unless you have lot of money to spend on marketing.
I own a phpBB forum. Its a link happy forum. It covers everything. That's my AIM. Help me by joining that forum and be active specially on The Internet Section.
People would only post in your forums if you got activities. Let's say DP has only 1000 members, would you post here? No.
