Hi guys, Launched my first site 2 weeks ago - www.everything-car-boot.co.uk. I know it isn't up to much - i'm waiting on a custom design at the moment but I am hoping to get it registering on the search engines in the meantime so I am not standing still. Some of the inner pages have been indexed already but not the home page, and even though I know I should be patient, I find myself getting frustrated sat waiting! So far I have; 1) Created a squidoo page dedicated to my topic 2) Published several stories on my blog, with another being published tomorrow 3) Published unique content on Goarticles and Ezinearticles (EZA still awaiting publication) 4) Got an article published on a couple of blogs 5) Pinged social bookmarking websites using Onlywire 6) Submitted and uploaded sitemap to G, Yahoo! and Bing. Is there anything I should be doing while I am waiting? Regards, Anthony
Frustrating, yes. But I don't mind waiting, just as long as my site appears on top of the other websites.
I haven't made any changes to the robots.txt file which is set to; User-agent: * Disallow: Sitemap: http://www.everything-car-boot.co.uk/sitemap.xml.gz Patience is a virtue and I am not virtuous!
it can be frastating if you think about indexing too much. you did more than enough to get your site indexed and i see your site is already indexed. just figure out what works and keep doing it without worrying about it too much
Try these I have launched my blog less than 2 weeks ago it is indexed, 1. try to post your URL and exact anchor text of blog on blogger blogspot blog, I have 2 blogs on Blogger with PR 2 I have used those. 2. Try to do digg submission og homepage URL. 3. Try to post full URL in famous forums like digitalpoint, 4. Try using the free search engine submission services. 5. Go to pingler.com and ping your blog. I did these things I hope it will help you out too..
submit a press release to www.booshplr.com you can have 3 anchor links in the texy, once approved all articles appear in google news, should help get you some traffic and backlinks
Get linked to a high PR site and easily you will get indexed. Another simple method is by signing up with any High PR forum and start posting with a signature of your url. that should work too.
Sweet I picked up a couple good ideas. How important is it to have a site map? I have seen plenty of high ranked sites that do not have them.
Try changing the robots.txt file to User-agent: * Allow: / Sitemap: -------------------------------------
Yes I think so - It is now being returned in search results quite easily, got alot of climbing to do though!
