GAF Writers is a Joke.

Yes, much better then on GAF and similar.

 

try to test some of writes on dp its better then gaf i think there you can find so many writers and test them, there you have to hire on per hr basis its cheep here.

 

I am not looking to hire writers. I am looking for sites where I can post articles that I write and earn money from them.

 

Flashforward check out helium...you can write for them and get paid....

Are their any other sites like Helium? Is Associated Content a good site to write for?

 

Actually, Helium is on my negative list right now. You don't make money, for the most part, writing an article then getting paid for it. Also, it seems they change their terms as to what you're allowed to give them and when. To me, not worth the trouble.

 

How do you advertise yourself to these high-paying clients?

I have written all of my own content personally for my clients. However, if I get too overwhelmed, my partner, a very qualified writer/proofreader, will take some of the work.

Actually, right now I don't. I haven't found any of the sites that really make me feel good. The couple of long term clients I have I actually got from this site, believe it or not. I can't say I've had the best experience with Guru or Elance either.

 

I am a writer and I tried working on GAF a while back. Needless to say, I got scammed, but at least I wasn't surprised by it and it was only $40. Like on DP, you will see dozens of so called writers posting copy paste messages like "i can do this for u sir". If you have the patience to go through all of your PMs here on DP, you will probably find a reliable writer, but GAF is full of scammers. RAC is much better when it comes to not getting scammed, at least in my opinion.

 

GAF always have sucked up hard on my ass as well. The writers there are pathetic as well as insecure about what they do. Don't even judge them by their reviews and stuff. At least on Dp you are bound to find some reliable writers working hard to build reputation. I would happily go for some writer charging 1$/100 words that a guy charging 1$/500 words.

You don't necessarily "advertise yourself." You build a writer platform and you build your network. The best gigs often come either from referrals or from people who learn about you on their own (why it's important to have your portfolio online and ranking well in search engines). In its most basic terms your platform is just a combination of things you do to build visibility -- write a book or e-book, have a blog related to your target market, use social media, run a podcast, get interviewed, guest post on other sites and blogs, give seminars or webinars, etc. Not only will those things lead to much higher paying work if you demonstrate your value to prospective clients (where they come to you and you don't have to actively go out looking for them), but many platform-building tools can also earn you a direct income in the meantime.

 

GAF - i just SAW a post where somebody wanted writers at 75c per 500 words.
The reason for such a miserable rate is outsourcing. The chap might have got a work for 1$ per 500 words and he decided to keep 25 cents per article and is trying to find writers at 75c per 500 words.

REALLY PATHETIC.

 

GAF is worst freelance website. But most advertised lately.

 

you can't expect to get a quality article in $1, most of the professional writers charges more than that, $5+ per article.

 

A lot more than that too. $1 and $5 don't offer much of a difference in the quality spectrum. Both are on the extremely low end.

 

Have you tried posting on elance.com and guru.com? Both are free for posting jobs and there are a lot of hungry writers bidding at both sites...

 

He definetely need to try that.

What I like from coders point of view in elance, is that they delete buyer tier-kickers too For example if buyer haven't selected anyone on 5 projects (Where it was 10+ bids on each averaged) probably he is just a waste of time for site. Cause he obviously can't choose between more than 50 people. And sometimes it's up to 100. He do not bring any profit to elance, as well as to coders who pays money to get the job.
