How is this a Page Rank 5 website?

this website has very little backlinks, is basically a year old, 4 or 5 total pages and ZERO content.

The domain has over 700,000 backlinks showing in yahoo explorer. PR has nothing to do with content.

 

My link checker shows this at 310 links. That's how they got the PR.

 

Considering the backlinks it could be possible. He could have well-used internal linking for his site. Like this one, all of the top pages have pr5. Even the sitemap.

 

i double check it on checkpagerank.net it said this website have a pagerank 6 and has link popularity over 1288759

if there is anyone can tell me how to make that many link popularity? as you see i'am a newbie.....

 

The bigger question is - why do you care what its PR is?

 

hem, according my opinion, pagerank is index of popularity of website, so the higher our website pagerank, the higher traffic that we got or it mean more people that using our website service, and it mean what we done it not in vain. it usefull for people, but if our pagerank is really small like one or zero, doesn't it mean there hardly people that come to our site and enjoying what we offer, so i think personally that is sad. i know and experience many problem when building my website and if all of my effort is only gave me result pagerank 0 and there hardly people come to my site, it just make me feel uncomfortable....so i think it really importance to have a higher pagerank, and what is your opinion, fan?

 

To OP, I don't see what's wrong with it as the website has more than 100,000 backlinks and there's nothing wrong with having PR5 for subpages.

 

Since it's a job listing site, it probably gets a lot of backlinks from high PR websites, and the job list keeps on changing.

The first thing I did was check the links with backlinkwatch dot com

and it said "50" total

 

It has got tonns of backlinks dude. You can have PR with even no content. But ranking matters. Is the website ranks well for any keywords? No right? There comes the G trick.

 

Check it again. It has more back links thats how it got pr 5.

 

The pr has nothing with content? I see this site has tons of backlinks with little content, i think it's rank is bad, for threre is no good keywords for it!

 

There are loads of PR6 websites out there that got almost no visitors at all. For example, they've built PR years ago from some sort of edu or other once-authority sites that are now half-dead. If boosting PR meant boosting traffic, we'd all be millionaires now.

I'll tell you what's wrong with that website. It has a higher PR than his own website and that's what's wrong with it.

 

I just check that site homepage's backlinks in Yahoo Site Explorer.

http://www.dailywp.com/ - has PR 6 and 931K backlinks. That's enough for the inner page to get descent PR (as link-juice will pass from home page to inner pages)

Backlink is important because google ranking system or page rank is determined by how many back link that web site have, in this case, this web site have an extremely lot of backlink, and have a high page rank....

 

I think the backlinks did the main thing. Even today backlinks are considered as the first preference by google when they are ranking a page.
