I'm running 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate RC for few months already. Totally owned. There isn't even a need to compare. Windows 7 is too good in almost all factors. I was afraid that there is compatible issues initially but what amazed me was all my drivers was supported! I even went to check for my graphics drivers before upgrading to Windows 7, download them and get ready. But when I upgrade, all is ready and supported. The interface is too good compare to XP or even Vista, so much of nice translucent interface and it's not slowing down. Usually when I used an OS for like 3-6 months, things starts to get flooded and starts to slow down. Windows 7 til now for me is still running as smooth, maybe because my laptop is on 4GB RAM. But it is sure working better than my Vista previously. If you are worried about compatibility issues on drivers, programs or any applications, that's not an issue for Windows 7. I haven't encounter ANY serious compatibility issues yet. Most minor ones just need to tweak a little with the compatibility settings in running the application. Windows 7 is made to replace Vista, as I believe too many people complains about Vista problems. Comparing it with XP is out of the topic. If you are considering to change your OS, just go for Windows 7. Staying on or getting a Windows XP or even Vista is a waste of money. Technology improves so rapidly nowadays, computer specifications supports Windows 7 without any issue. I'm glad to be using 64bit Windows 7 as it utilize my 4GB Ram, 32bit OS only utilize up to 3GB Ram at most. I simply love Windows 7. Will get the original version once my RC trial ends next April/May.
as always it depends on your specs: if you have 2GB+ ram and a core2duo / Athlon X2 you should go Win7 for sure. If you're computer is very, verry old (p4 < 2.8ghz, ram < 1024) XP may run better. But Win7 will be more compatable for future software.
Hi All I don't know what all the fuss is about between XP and Windows 7 Windows 7 Pro and Ultimate give you XP Mode FREE which gives you a fully licensed copy of XP SP3 virtual machine where you can still run your XP apps in Windows 7. Regards
Hi, zenalisha here, as per my opinion is concerned i will prefer windows xp in stead of windows 7 just becoz windows xp is better in speed and usability and compatibility. any unknown user can use windows xp without having any big problem concern. accroding to speed, performence, easibility.
I am using win7 for 3 months now.. I don;t know about the rest but points 3 and 4 goes definitely to Win 7. It is much much better OS, as far as I'm concerned.

I am truly encouraged by this news! Hopefully, it will give me enough encouragement to finally convince my vendor and cross the road to switch over to Windows 7! Regards, RightMan
I think they are both great Operating systems. Microsoft did a good job with windows 7, but i just hate that its really should be Windows Vista with service pack 3
