Talkfreelance.com is the forum for designers, developers, seo’s.

The forum is currently totally run and managed by 9 excellent and dedicated staff who handle all the day to day running of the site. It is highly recommended that anyone taking over the site keeps the current staff to create as little disruption to the site as possible. These guys are fantastic and really provide the helping hand and will help advise any new owner.

To take the site to the next level it really just needs someone with a bit of dedication and a knowledge of monetizing forums and getting the most from the userbase of 23,000 webmasters.

Pre-auction we have received unsolicited offers in the low $XX,XXX region.

The proceeds of the sale are going to fund what should be the largest SEO competition ever – details can be found here: http://www.semseosalad.com/showthread.php?t=67664

Urchin Stats are available at: http://www.talkfreelance.com/saleinfo/

    Traffic:

    Urchin stats are:

1.1 million page views / month
    120,000 sessions / month

    The site currently has:

    500,000 + Posts
    23,000 + Members
    66,000 + Threads

The site is currently getting around 500 new members per month.

    Alexa Rank: 28,866 (http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/www.talkfreelance.com)
Age – Online since July 2004

    Revenue details:

We have not had the time to concentrate on monetizing the site, and feel that now is time for somebody else to take on the job.

Currently the only source of revenue is through a couple of Google ads on the top and the side banner, which users can choose not to display, bringing in $90 per month.

With such a large user base and an active community there are plenty of opportunities to generate revenue from the site.

    PLEASE NOTE
Due to my heavy workload with managing the installation of a big IT system, my colleage is managing the sale (he couldn't post himself as he didn't have enough posts). ALL PM's should be directed to my Colleague at http://forums.digitalpoint.com/member.php?u=169679

$90/month? seems too little for such a high value site ...

Totally - its never been monetised other than the top google banner. The style that most people select also has not ad's at all. It used to make about $500 a month from selling ad space when I took it over about 3 yrs ago - when it had 3,000 members - but I didn't have the time to manage the ads.

I've always been to busy on other stuff to monetize it properly. Anyone with knowledge on running and monetizing forums will know how to get the most out of it. Adding integrated ads like DP, would be a simple way, but there are abviously loads of ways and anyone who's run forums before will know this.

It's a great site to take on if someones got the time - just needs someone with dedication and knowledge to really turn it into a great site. There are 9 dedicated staff who are always willing to help run stuff - just needs a good leader. I've been so wrapped up in my other businesses that I had to leave it to run on its own - which is never a good thing. Hence my selling to give it to someone with the dedication and time to take it to a new level.

Can you please provide the Member names who offered $xxxxx as it is against DP rules to accept private bids without disclosing them.

    Thank you.
