Does anyone have a tip for creating a vector of a teddy bear sunflower? Teddy Bear sunflower: The flower head is what I am struggling with. The leaves and the stems are easy to create. The poofyness of the flower has me quite overwhelmed. Any pointers or tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. sorry about the large resolution on the examples of teddy bear sunflowers.
i can give you a high quality vectorization of that flower for 80cents, here is a sample; fc05.deviantart.net/fs50/i/2009/329/3/b/sample_by_Jo_Ru.jpg i can send you an eps of that file and i will also vectorize any other image you want for 80cents in total.
I know this is a simple trick but try using LIVE TRACE in illustrator which will vectorise the image for you. Adjust the threshold aswell to find a happy medium.
I have done it with adobe illustrator. Use gradient mesh or simple gradients to create single branches of flower, when duplicate and rotate branches. Do not use autotracing. Where is nothing you cant do with pen tool.
An easy way to make flowers is by making a circle and applying the roughen filter to them. This one is crude but a person can spend some time and make them more detailed and realistic with strokes and drop shadows.
This is probably the approach I am going to take. I found a great tutorial for it as well: http://books.google.com/books?id=sem4R_NJ9h0C&pg=PA108&lpg=PA108&dq=creating+flowers+with+the+roughen+tool&source=bl&ots=V9SL6DAH4x&sig=07s3EK_iqV5scXGFPAlju8h6GgQ&hl=en&ei=D8sNS9DlMdHTngeG-dnaAw&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=4&ved=0CBQQ6AEwAw#v=onepage&q=creating%20flowers%20with%20the%20roughen%20tool&f=false Thanks for your help.
I think your best bet would be to trace a couple of the petals, and make some brushes, then apply the brushes to the perimeter of a circle, then clone, maybe adjust the amount of points along the sample line of the oval/circle, and keep layering them until you're happy.
