I'm not in the same country as him though. He can PM me if he likes; I'm not trying to steal anyhting from him. Well, maybe a little wisdon
It wouldn't matter what country you're in. He's already explained as much as he can without mentioning the company or the niche, why would you want to know something that particular?
i don't want to know the company or the niche. I just wanted to know what content he stuck on the site so the brick and mortar people didn't get mad if they found out. I guess it doesn't matter you could put on the site since the traffic is being generated from people looking for the brick and mortar company anyways and went to his site since there is no official site for the brick and mortar company.
Very inspirational stuff, I make about $2 a day lol. Seriously though it really proves that it can be done. Good luck for $15k
That is the true secret of a name and effecticely piggybacking the brand really helps you in promotions as well. If you do it right it can be a winner long term, but doing it wrong can certainly bring about problems.
Congrats man. The 1000 USD "milestone" is my goal. It's a much smaller goal, but after 8 months it's OK.
Congratulations, I hope to reach that figure one day! Just a quick note on similar domain names, I learned the hard way. I bought a domain name with an extension that was not taken. The company had not bothered registering it though they had others from 4 years previous. A couple of years down the line I got a letter from their solicitors demanding I sign over the domain or prosecution. Note, that I didn't even have content on that web page yet pertaining to this company, their products or similar. I responded with a letter arguing my case and they responded with court papers. They were looking at £8000 as an out of court settlement simply due to legal costs! In the end I reduced the costs to just under £2000 and settled. Just be careful!
They can't apply any costs to you unless you have done something wrong. If you agree to give the domain to them or, as is the normal procedure, you sell it to them for a nominal fee then you are not required to pay any costs.
Happened to me too. Luckily the company was kind enough to reimburse me a couple of years domain fees plus paid for a new domain for me.. and this was a HUGE company.. so I dont recommend using company names in domain names
wow $10,000 in a month! Thats 120,000 a year! Thats more than some doctors who spent 8 years of school after high school!!! that would be dream come true if i could do that!!
????? whos insane ???? You did not know a company can protect itself and sue you for messing with their intellectual property???? Its the same as going out and defacing a companies property or stealing their goods, services. While the poster may have a point his arse can be put in a sling big time...for all those thousands he has been kind enough to document for the company publicly.....he can be sued for it all and much more.... Caveat Emporer and one last thing..... ignorance of the law is not a proper defense in the eyes of the court..... Hope it helps
You were lucky. In my case the guy in the company was a nasty piece of work and just wanted to use bullying tactics. Even if you could argue your case you're too scared to because once it gets to court the costs would slaughter you if you failed.
