You are half correct, that would be called a two-way link. One-way links also exist and they are both called Backlinks as long as a link points to your site.
The Second link is going to be the backlink and it must be clickable. Here google.com gets one more backlink from DP by your thread..i hope you clearly got the point.
Not true, all nofollow doesn't do is pass on page reputation. It's still just as valid for a backlink.
Guess you need to brush up on your SEO It IS considered a backlink, the only thing it won't do is benefit your SERPs. It can still help your pages get indexed etc.
