Anyone had luck getting a free Y! directory listing?

    Hi,

I am just wondering whether any DP members have had any luck in getting their site listed for free (as a non-commercial site) in Yahoo's directory.
What do they consider as a non-commercial site? Do they deem any site that displays ads as a commercial site?

    Ajay.

Those of you who got their sites listed, did you get your listing after the very first time you submitted?

They say that you can "safely" submit your website once every month and they won't consider it as spam. Would this "keep trying till you get in" approach work?

We got 1 listed in about a week. Went up in the serps, but i'm not happy about the title that was used. I think the stripped down sterilized title has turned off people from clicking.

I've just have a look at the Y directory to see if they had added a site I suggested about 1 year ago and, to my surprise, it's now listed there. :p
    I feel lucky now :)

I think there is a better chance of Nintendo getting lucky than getting a free yahoo directory listing. *BA RUMP BUMP BUMP* ;)

I got my site listed and much to my surprise, they were very quick and even helpful when it got listed in the wrong category. My one good experience with yahoo.

wow, this is an old thread. I didn't think they did free directory listings anymore. Even at the time of the original post I don't think they did them free. I have a few older sites like late 90's early 00's that got in free, but don't think it happens any longer.
