I'm currently setting up a website that offers freebies. For obvious reasons, to some people it looks like a scam or a method of harvesting their email addresses. Has anyone got any advice on showing that it is not a scam-websites who can review it etc.? Thanks!
Implement aweber service or related service if you are taking emails for subscription - so that people would easily give in Hope this helps...
Does it look credible for you? Try to make it as user-friendly as possible. Also Have an Online Help Chatroom where the webmaster can talk to them. Be there online and always try to make changes as much as possible. Just pretty much talk to your visitors especially if its a freebie site, It should have a nice community
usually if its free and you have a good enough sales page for it, people are willing to pay their email address for it. I know I would.
Depends, If you think you qualify for Better Bureau Business... honestly, might not be worth it unless you are already making a lot of money. But if the site is new, just stay true to your members and offer bonuses.. You will get word of Mouth.
BizRate has a neat little seal they can slap on your site that gives an honest rating based on feedback from your own customers It's a neat little application and seems to do well. Other seals you can put up would include BBB as already mentioned, and possibly HackerSafe. I'm not a big fan of using seals, but there is research suggesting they increase consumer trust.
Funny... your other thread (now deleted) said First rule of not looking like a scam is to get your story straight.
put some logos on your website about anti scam and write one blog about your website and write all description about your website what you offer so when people search for your website on Google about your website scam they will find you are legit.
Live chat, testimonials and reviews will help to increase a websites popularity and reputation. They are one of the factors that one website is not a scam.
Ask an unbiased friend what they think of your site. Don't tell them the background of the site or anything, just sit back and let them be brutally honest!
add your info to google local business center and add your site into it, and make sure to inform your site visitor that u already registered on that, they will know your physical location and trust increase.
