    Hi All

As part of our Windows 7 promotion I am offering forum users the chance to migrate an old XP computer to a new Windows 7 computer WITHOUT:

    • Data Loss
    • Having to reinstall XP applications

Your data including ALL documents, programs and settings are simply transfered from your old XP machine to your new Windows 7 machine.

And in no time, you will have a fully functional XP machine, within your Windows 7 machine.

Interested then please reply or PM me.

    Regards

Yes MS provides XP Mode but there are some requirements and conditions such as:

XP Mode requires Hardware Assisted Virtualisation (HAV) - ours does not
Only available in Pro, Ultimate and Enterprise - ours available in all versions
You have to reinstall ALL your XP applications - ours is automatic
You have to fully reconfigure your XP VM - our is automatic
You have to reconfigure networking - our is automatic
XP Mode is limited in HDD size - ours supports drives greater then 128 GB

    Plus other benefits

    Regards

    Hi There

As you have the ultimate version you could take a look at XP Mode.

However if that doesn't suit you then I could do it over the internet for you.

Which migratation scenario are you interested in?

Moving XP from an old machine to a new Windows 7 machine or
Upgrading a single machine from XP to Windows 7

    Regards

    Whoa, this is pretty awesome!

I'm getting a Win7 laptop for Christmas, and would be very interested in your service (the "Moving XP from an old machine to a new Windows 7 machine" one). How can I contact you?

    Hi There

I see your point and that is a good idea but what is the software cost for your method?

Does Acronis True Image Image Home do this? And does the free VM Player support this?

    Hi There

Would be excellent if the FREE versions of Acronis from Seagate / Maxtor / WD supported converting backup images to VHD but sadly they don't.

VHD is no good at all - it doesn't support HDDs larger than 128GB (I'm talking total space, not used space).
And are you going to give VMWare Player to end-users? They'll never be able to work that thing, too complicated! VMWare itself markets their product to power users / techies...

Unless you have some magic user-friendly VM that no one knows about :)

    Hi There

If you would read my OP carefully you will realise that I'm NOT offering VHD's or VMWare.

The previous poster said that he used VHD's and I agreed it was a good idea but it does have limitations and requires a certain degree of skill.
