I am currently getting ZERO clicks on my site. I redid the design and colors to make it more appealing, but I am not sure if it's helping much. Is it my site that is turning people off to clicking? Or is the ad placement? Your suggestions are greatly appreciated!
What type of traffic do you get, like how many uniques daily, where they come from, etc? I'd recommend putting a link ad horizontal bar below the navigation there, and maybe even a text ad below that, and remove one of the other two ads you have. Good luck.
The ads are blended too well into the left for one. Almost like it wasn't there. Hows about putting a rectangle ad inside your content. Ooo somehow I clicked an ad for some reason ...
Try not to crowd your left bar that much. Remove the link block and leave the skyscrapper there only. Also, TBH i don't like the brown background.
Damn, just when I changed the side bar background to be brown, I guess I have to change it again? Anyone else not like particular things about my site? Give it to me honestly, it's the only way to make it better!
I only get like 100 uniques daily, so not very much traffic I suppose. They are mostly from forums, message boards, some from SE's and some from email links. So would it make more sense to remove the side bar skyscraper and then put ads within the text?
Place ads inside the content. It looks like you have some good stuff that people would actually read. Placing ads inside and letting the text wrap will help. I also think the left nav should be less distinct (more the same) as the body of the page. Eye tracking studies show that when you have visual barriers peoples' eyes stop at the barrier. In other words lines and contrasting backgrounds can have an adverse effect on ads. Good Luck though... and keep writing about body building. Great niche!
If it were me (and note I just ran into problems), I would move the left over to the right, when I go to your site my eyes focus on the text, for some reason the left I do not even pay attention to, if it were to my right I might. Just a sugestion to think about. Also, you may want to blend ad's into the text block, I think that may help.
My site does better after I moved ads over to the left. The brown is definately not working for me. When visiting your site, my eyes are drawn to the content only and I'm basically ad blind. I'm not sure if you should change the background color of the sidebar or remove the sidebar completely.
I agree with some of the others, you need to somehow make the ads more noticeable. Typically, it is not advisable to make your Adsense ads stand out, but in this case I think it could help. Give the ads a border or a slightly different color background. Sometimes, good blending is not the right thing to do.
Ok, I changed my side bar background color so the ads will hopefully stand out more. This is what it looked like before This is the new look What is the verdict? Good color to stick with or change it to something else?
Normally I don't like the big 300*250 rectangles, but on this site I'd give it a try, actually set in the text, left or right. Even with the new design, attention is drawn by the main text and something makes the ads 'invisible' - they are just too far out of the flow of the other text perhaps.
if i was you, i would put the ads somewhere in the middle of the article instead of all of them in the left side just my 2cents
Personally I think you should have some horizontal text links in the content section, perhaps under this line: Related Article: Supplement Industry Greed - Don't Be Fooled
ok well here's my 2 cents: 1. I would put a small banner under your main title "Fitness And Bodybuilding For Better Health And Success" 2. Correct me if I'm wrong (which I could be since I'm just starting on the SEO scene) but your meta keywords <META NAME="keywords" CONTENT="Motivation, fat loss,goal,fitness,e-Book,health,bodybuilding,motivation,e-book,muscle,Todd Fitchett,Success, bodybuilding ebooks, weight loss,exercise,diet,goals,motivated,success,lean,workout,ebooks,successful,life,e-books,download,you have the power,ACE,natural, motivational ebooks, more successful, quality of life, muscle gain,"> Code (markup): are separated by commas but shouldn't there be a comma and then a space? eg motivation, fat loss, goal, fitness, e-book... Code (markup): 3. Personally I hate the left sidebar and I think you should get rid of it alltogether! At least make it less wide! Maybe get some design in to it! give it curved corners instead of a 1995-site-looking box. Maybe make the background of it black and make the ad text appear white/green? Good Luck! Dom
or somewhere ---play around with ad placement...see what works and not.. try placing ads on different areas every other week and see which work best. plus you might want to do some link related exchanges, submit articles and get some link backs to your site....those Organic search will helped you in the long run...trust me....
I think your side bar is so "on the side" that it's out of the way. Perhaps it would help, if you make your header go completely across the top of the page, then blow it, divide it into two columns (side bar, and content), so the side bar looks like it is part of the page.
I know they are hardly used anymore but are you allowed as many keywords as you like as long as they are not repeated. Like 20-30 of them? And as for the website i believe if you continue to work at it and get the visitors up the clicks will grow. I also reccomend horizontal ad placement somewhere down the page. Hope it improves!
