With a little experience in the DIRECTORY sector; I have the opportunity to come closer of many webmasters and siteowners. 99% of them are really wonderful and have a keen interest to achieve SOMETHING! But what bugs me most that a very few has real interest to develop quality sites! I dont know why! It is not a tough job to maintain quality and provide good information, reach content to the internet users along with ADVERTISEMENT thing! Suppose when a directory comes everybody is starting submitting, but I am sure that directory owner finds most of the site with BAD content. Cannot we change this trend? Internet is a place of GLOBAL OPPROTUNITY and I think DIRECTORY and DP is a place to create GLOBAL COMMUNITY. So we need to change the trend to change the world. What do you people think?
The point is PR and traffic is essential, REVENUE from AD too but it is also essential to provide users RICH CONTENT and DIRECTORY OWNERS to give flexibility to maintain their DIRECTORY and inspire them submitting GOOD SITES
"Do we have real intention of build and promote good sites?" I can understand your question in the title, as every directory owner is trying their best to grow their directories while offering as much as possible to the submitters. Now if the question is address to MFA, and spammers - I doubt you will get a response.
Well, most people think their sites are GOOD, so it is hard to get people to discriminate against their own site when deciding to submit to directories. This is why directories have editors to only allow the good sites to get through. Let me answer your question with a question: What are you doing to improve the directory world?
Well it is true but the same time it is also true that people who owns BAD SITES are roaming around us ! may be they are also the owner of one or two directory! May be they are our DP pal ! The point is we need grow consciousness people around us ! And this forum can play a vital role. And to improve the directory world.......well my post is a little step for the improvement..don't you think so?
