Directory script with a feature to show thumbs of the featured links?

    Hello guys,

I 've found that some of the directories have shown small screenshots (thumbs) of the recent or featured links in the directory homepage. Could anybody tell me what is the script? I don't think that it is phpld. Or is it just because of the template they are using. I could not find a directory script or template which enables such a feature. Could you please help?

    Thanks.

Update: (Humm.. this is the Directory URL ) - http://newgenredirectory.com where I wish to bring the feature.

phpld and eSyndicat both have options to display thumshots - and the script can be tweaked to show for all or only selected categories. awinsjclarke has already mentioned thumbshots - which I have used successfully in few sites, Alexa too offers similar service to give snapshot view of domains.

    Cheers

Friend, thanks for the information. I just tried their site. But its not offering thumbshots for directories after registration. They are just asking me to put the code just to get my own directories thumbshot..

How to add the same to the featured links of my directory.?
    Thanks for your advices :)

Forward your queries to phpld forums incase related to phpld tweaks, they would be in a better situation to help you.

    You have asked:

Its a code based on the type of script you are using for your directory. For phpld software the code is at its support forum, for other type of scripts/software its again available at the developers forum.

Can you show your demo directory where you are trying to add that feature? Therefore someone can guild you.

Every type of directory software that particular feature is available is what I am trying to say. :)

Thanks friend. Actually our directory is not built in phpld script. It's another php script where I have made a few editings too.

The thumbshot feature is available in all versions of the PHPLD script as far as I know. I have one of the free versions at http://www.jdsdirectory.com , this is version 2.0 .

I also have one of the newest versions 4.0 at http://www.yackalot.com . In 4.0 there is a page called "detail.php" that can be added for free. In the adm. panel you have to have the Page Rank Feature turned on for the thumbnails to work. It was real simple to set up and I prefer the thumbshots just like you. I think they look nice.

The Free version of qlWebDS Directory Script is fully functional but it doesn't have all the features and mods that the Premium and the Pro versions have.

Check all the features here: qlWebDS Features and Mods.

Directory Press script allows thumbshots with the script itself. I have installed it at http://deepweblinks.com which works in the right way which I've expected.

I may try that. Because the :stupid: script have a big bug. It is showing a meta nofollow which couldn't traced out from the coding. It may make things worse. Because if the submitters feel that its nofollow and useless, that's it and the site will be screwed. I will try to edit it for 2-3 more days if its not working that's it. Next script will be installed and this may be useful for me then.

    Thanks.
