I've tried searching the web for answers, but there are all not clear.

I want to be able to track the stats on my main domain: mydomain.com differently from my subdomain: subdomain.mydomain.com

Thus, i want to see the traffic for both of these separate from each other. How do i do that?

Rep for the one who can help, tks :D

There is a seperate option in the left sidebar while you create the analytics in google analytics, use that.
or else create two separate codes and install it separately :D

Yes, set up 2 profiles; otherwise if you have two index.html root files, one in the www.xyz.com version and another in the subdomain.xyz.com, both will show as the home page, even though they are separate.

For tracking domain and sub domain separately, you need to customize code in that way. for more information on tracking sub domain visit http://www.webanalyticstip.com/tracking-subdomains-with-google-analytics/
